"Where you going, baby?" Momma asked me as I grabbed my keys off the hook by the door.
Her and my dad made back up a few days later. My momma realized that he wasn't lying and he actually didn't know the girl so they got back right.
"Finna go see Mel." I said, turning around and seeing her stirring macaroni in a pot.

Melody gotta stop playing that dumbass shit around me.
"Well, people gone be getting here in like 2 hours so y'all needa be back by then." She told me and I nodded. "And bring your friend group. I miss my daughter in law and my other son."
"Ima see if they wanna come. They might be busy though." I shrugged and she gave me a blank stare.
"Call them right now, Jaxon." She straight faced me and I bit my lip.
"Really, momma?"
"Now, Jaxon." She said and I frowned.
I pulled out my phone and went to the groupchat, facetiming it. Everyone slowly joined and I tried to hide my smile as I saw Mel laying in bed with her head scarf on.

"Hey." I greeted and everyone waved back.
I saw Jace with Diara and shook my head. He was definitely gonna bring her with him anyways.
I couldn't even ask them the question because momma took my phone. She do this every time I swear.
"Hey, sexy!" Mel perked up and I rolled my eyes.
That girl love my momma more than me.
"Hey, baby." Momma waved with a smile. "Y'all wanna come to my cookout later?"
"Of course bae. We gone wear matching outfits?" Melody asked and momma laughed.
"Wassup, dukes. Ignore her. We gone come." Kayden spoke and she smiled.
"Bring your girl too. I hear about this girl every time you come over and I never met her yet." Momma told him, putting on her mom face.
"She right here. She sleep though." Kayden said and I looked over momma shoulder and saw Brisa curled up against Kayden with her bonnet on.
"Aw, she's so pretty." She grinned.
"Bae, you still ain't answer my question. Whatchu wearing so we can match?" Melody said and I snatched my phone back.
"Stop flirting with my momma." I mugged her and she made the same face.
"That's my wife, thank you." She rolled her eyes and momma laughed.
"You and yo daddy gone stop snatching all these damn phones from me." Momma said and I turned back.
"My fault." I said, going back over and kissing her cheek.
