"I brought you breakfast." I knocked on Lani's door as she laid sprawled out in her bed.

She groaned and rolled away as I moved my glasses, waiting for her to wake up because I was bored as hell.

"Mel...whatchu doin here?" She scrunched her face up, tapping her phone on her nightstand.

Me and my sister really blind as fuck because Lani was squinting like fucking crazy as she tried to read the time.

"It's like 9 in the morning. On a saturday. Let me sleep girl." She waved me off, getting back under the covers.

"I'm bored though, Lani." I frowned, coming in and going to sit on her bed.

"Go talk to auntie or something. She the only other crazy one who would be up at 9 on a saturday." She mumbled with her eyes still closed.

I just ignored her and kept sighing over and over until she finally got up.

"Oh my god- okay, I'm up." She groaned, sitting up in the bed. When she got up, her knee accidentally hit me in the stomach.

"Shit." I hissed, rubbing where she hit as I tried to ignore the pain.

"Ooh- my fault, Mel. It still hurt right there?" She asked and I nodded.

"You cool. Good thing you finally got up because I was finna take your glasses and run so then you really had to get up." I shrugged and she raised a brow.

"Not really because my contacts are over..." Lani paused, squinting around the room as she tried to find them until she finally pointed at her desk. "There."

"Yo blind ass." I laughed, handing her her glasses that I picked up.

"Who blind?" My pops said, coming to stand in Lani's door.

"Us. And where did we even get that from because you and mommy can see just fine." I frowned as Lani sat behind me, trying to wake herself up before snatching the bag of food from me.

"Man, y'all got that from y'all damn grandma. She couldn't see for shit." He laughed, still standing in the doorway.

"She still alive?" Lani asked and he nodded.

"Yeah, but we don't talk. Crazy cause I love my momma a whole lot." Daddy rubbed his chin as he just shook his head. "Mel, yo momma called."

"Which one?" I asked and he gave me a blank stare.

"Yo other momma." He answered and I blew out a breath as I heard Lani eating behind me.

"What she say?"

"She was asking if you was good and everything because she knew you ain't wanted to be at home at the moment." He recited and I sighed and shrugged.

"I'm alright. I just don't wanna be at that house no more than I have to." I replied and he nodded.
