Tuesday 23rd of August

The last day. It's actually the last day. It's arrived and it doesn't feel real. The last time I'll wake in this bed. The last time I'll go up the road for breakfast. I hate goodbyes.

I got out of bed feeling the pure pain in my skull. What the actual fuck. I put on the outfit I'd prepared the day before, then I grabbed my bags.

I'm so hungover, fuck...

Nick had said he wanted to leave early, to avoid getting back late. I imagine it won't be too early though. Stella and I collected our bags and made sure we hadn't left anything. I had an emotional look around the cabin one last time, then we made our last journey up to the restaurant. The sky today was a milky white, you couldn't see the sun, you couldn't see any blue at all, and it was covered in clouds. It wasn't gloomy, just not sunny.

I couldn't remember much of anything from last night. But I remember being sad at Logan for showing up for two minutes and leaving so quickly. Last thing I remember of him was when he downed that drink and left the bar, not even saying goodbye properly. He made his feelings clear. But that's okay, I hope he's doing what I'm doing, keeping his heart safe.

Taylor pulled a sad face as we walked in. "Stop, I hate this part of summer." She cried.

We sat down and ordered breakfast for the last time, looking at each other with sorrowful faces.

"I'm gonna cry like a baby, Lanes," Stella whined.

I held my hand out to her, "I know... me too."

After we'd finished breakfast we sat for a moment in silence.

"So have you planned what you'll say to Logan?" Stella asked.

"I think it's probably best we leave it as it is."

"What? No! You can't do that? You have to say bye." Nick argued.

"It'll make it harder." I stressed.

"You'll regret it Laney, trust me." Stella urged.

"Well... fine, but I don't know what to say to him."

"Well don't leave it till the last minute."

"I know, I know" I was trying not to stress about it.

"How's everyone's heads today anyway?" Nick said.

"Terrible." Stella whined.

"I can't remember a lot from last night." I said.

"You were so funny." Stella laughed.

"I was?" I said intrigued.

"You drank so much so quickly, we had to take you to bed at like eleven!" She grinned.

"I did?" I said shocked. I thought it was so late when I crashed?

"Yeah," she laughed. "I got a message from Logan saying you'd thrown up outside."

What?? I threw up? He saw that? I don't remember this?

"He was with me?" I questioned confused.

"Well..." she looked at Nick. "He was... then as soon as me and Nick came out to you he left pretty quickly, didn't say anything."

Oh... he didn't even heroically carry me back? Tuck me into bed and devote his life to me? He's truly let me go...

"Well... I guess that's understandable." I looked down, "but you know what?" I looked back up enthusiastically. "As sad as I am, i'm so glad I've still got you guys."
