Nathan's POV (Before Dinner)
I approached Destiny's dad, he did not look threatening. He looked a lot like Destiny, he had the same dark brown hair and eyes. I reached my hand out to greet him, "It's nice to meet you, I'm Nathan," I said nervously.
He accepted my hand shake and gave me a reassuring smile. "Please...don't break her heart,"
"I won't," I replied. That went well. I sat next to Destiny and gave her a smile.

(Destiny's POV)
I stood in the entrance to my living room with my mouth gaped, I barely knew this woman and she was going to be my step-mom? fml. Nathan looked over to me with a concerned look. I was not going to ruin this moment for my dad or Samantha, but I was pissed. I was not listening to anything my dad was saying her. I went over and gave my dad and Samantha and pretended to go to my room but I bolted straight out of the house through the backdoor.
I felt like I was being selfish but I couldn't control all the emotions inside of me.
I was pacing in the backyard when Nathan came out of the sliding door. He took both of my hands and tried to calm me down. He didn't have to say a word. He planted a kiss on the top of my head as I embraced him. I felt safe here.
I felt a few hot tears flow down my face. "I'll be right back," I said as I left our embrace.
"Hey, Dad Nathan's mom really wants him home," I said as Nathan followed me inside.
"It was a pleasure to meet you," Nathan said.
We walked straight out of the front door and got in the car. "Where are we going?" Nathan asked as he buckled his seatbelt.
"I don't know anywhere but there," I said as backed out of my driveway. I said nothing until I pulled up to the tulip garden. There was a trail that lead to the other side of the field.
"Destiny, it's going to be okay," Nathan said as he caught up to me. I was fuming, what the actual f*ck is wrong with my dad? He would not have told me about her if I did not see her. I found my way to the forest where we had our picnic and I stood where the picnic blanket was.
"Do-do you want to talk about it?" Nathan asked.
"I just met this b*tch," I blutered out Nathan looked taken aback.
"She is going to be f*cking step mom now?" I yelled, I could hear my voice echo.
"I have had more conversations with my f*cking English teacher than her, and I am supposed to see her everyday?" I sat in the fetal position, and started crying. I hate being vulerable but everything in my life was going to sh*t I lost my bestfriend, then my mom came back, my ex is a psycho and now my dad is getting married? If I did not have Nathan, my life would be way way worse.
Nathan just listened, he didn't say anything. he just sat next to me and I eventually calmed down and put my head on his shoulder. I just looked ahead, emotionless as my tears dried. I felt Nathan look at me and I broke my dramatic stare and looked back, I couldn't help but to feel better when I looked at him. I put my hand on his face and kissed him, I repositioned myself to face him and deepened the kiss. This kiss felt passionate, more passionate than any other. I was practically sitting on his lap now with my hands on his chest. I felt a pebble like rock hit the side of my head and it felt like I was going to pass out.
Nathan got up and looked at the "thrower." (idk what else to call it)
"What the f*ck Jeremy?" Nathan yelled.
That was the first time I heard Nathan yell. I put my hand to my head, it wasn't bleeding. When I stood up I was really dizzy but I saw Lilith standing behind Jeremy giving me a sinister smile.
Jeremy took 4 steps forward and punched Nathan across the face.
