It was 2 hours later when I got another message from Nathan, he must have been working

'I would love to get to know you more'

I instantly replied with,

'Me too.'

I smiled at my phone sitting on the chair in my room.

My phone glowed and saw another message,

'Where do we start?'

'You go first' I typed out, part of me hesitated but I hit send.

'What is your favorite color?' popped up on the screen.

'Light green, yours?'

'Yellow,'

'Like neon yellow?' I typed.

'No I'm not that person,'

':)'

'What are your hobbies?'

I had to think about that for a moment.

'I like to play electric guitar,' I replied

'Me too,'

I smiled when his message came through.

My phone fell, and I accidentally pressed the call button.

I felt my soul leave my body.

I almost hung up but he answered.

"Hello," I heard his voice say from the other side of the line.

"Hi," I replied.

I felt so embarrassed. What was I going to say?

He is probably wondering why I called him so early on.

"We can continue our conversation over the phone if you would like," He said with a tone of sarcasm.

I flinched, I barely knew what to ask over text when I had time to think about it.

"Sure," I said with a laugh.

"How long have you been playing guitar for?"

Conversation comes easier to him it seems.

"Since I was 10, so 7 years go." I replied.

"You're Seventeen? I am too." he said.

I could feel him smile through the phone.

"Everytime I see you, you're with a girl. Who is she?"

"Oh that's Lilith, My best friend. Do you have any friends?"

"Should I take that offensively?" he said with a joking tone.

I giggled, I never giggle.

*

We talked for almost an hour and a half, I can't believe the conversation came so easily. I didn't want to hang up but I had to drive Anthony to baseball.

I had already texted Lilith but she didn't reply.

I was questioning whether or not I should go to the mall but I eventually ruled out that would be creepy.

I hadn't seen my dad in a couple of days, anytime he was at the house I wasn't. Some of that may have been intentional. I was still mad at him, how could he not tell me? Everytime he is with a new girl I am cool with it.

My phone glowed and I got a message. I thought it was from Lilith but it read,

'Do you want to meet at the mall after my shift?'

'Sure' I replied.

I could feel the butterflies in my stomach.

**

I saw Nathan wearing a dark blue shirt and jeans sitting on the fountain by the Pretzel Place.

"Hey" he said.

"Hello, how are you?"

"I am doing pretty well actually," he replied.

I smiled.

I looked into his bright blue eyes.

'What should we do?" he asked.

"Arcade?" I suggested.

"You're on,"

**

We only had to walk a short distance to get to the arcade.

"Which game?" Nathan asked me.

I pointed to the game .

"This one you make the most profit,"

I saw him type something on his phone and then put it away immediately.

We walked over to the Jackpot game and he said,

"So, you like to make the most profit?"

"In these arcades yeah, I want to win that 2 dollar prize."

He smiled, "Oh yeah, which one are you aiming at getting," he said jokingly

"Probably the tiny blue slap hand," I said with a giggle.

"Alright then," he said.

We walked over to the game. It's the one where you spin the wheel and get tickets. I know it's so entertaining.

"You go first," I told him.

The wheel landed on light green.

"You're favorite color," he said.

I smiled, He remembers everything I tell him.

**

"I think we played that wheel game a little bit too much," I told Nathan as we walked out of the arcade.

"I'm sorry, but I loved it, I loved spending time with you. You did get your blue slap hand too," he replied.

I blushed, he was so caring a big step up from Jeremy.

"Want to get sushi after school on Monday?" I asked him. I truly wanted to see him again.

"Sure," he replied.

I didn't know what to do but I walked backwards and waved awkwardly.

"What was that? Why am I so cringey?" I thought.

"Hey-" I heard Nathan's voice start.

I looked back at him, "Yeah?" I replied.

"Here," He handed something to me, a coupon for a free Pretzel.

"Destiny!" I heard another voice yell out.

It was Jeremy.
