Monkey Bars

Destiny's pov

I snap my neck around to see Lilith, with Jeremy.

"About to kiss your boyfriend huh?" she said in a mocking tone.

All of my anger rushed inside of me and I stood up, even with Nathan's eyes telling me to sit down. I was pissed, More pissed than I ever had been.

Keeping my tone calm I snapped back at her, "Oh looks like you just came out of a Disney Channel movie,"

I am good at not letting people read me, Lilith usually could but not this time.

"Oh, shut the f*ck up," she said to me.

I could feel the tears form but I held them in. I saw her hand loop with Jeremy's and she smirked at me.

I rolled my eyes at her. I grabbed Nathan's hand and walked away from her. Lilith tried to trip me but Nathan caught me before I could fall.

I turned around, and didn't say anything to her. I have known Lilith for ten years and she feeds off of other people's reactions, so I didn't give her any. It was sunset when I exited the mall, my hand still in Nathan's, I went over to my car and got in.

"Come on," I told Nathan. He climbed into the car and seeing him sitting there next to me gave me butterflies, even though I was angry. The mall parking lot was practically empty, aside from the few employee cars.

"Can't believe you were able to just walk away from that," Nathan said.

"Honestly, I am proud of myself," I said with a laugh.

"I am not one for conflict," I said.

"Ooh a playground, want to go?" I asked him as I turned the car.

"Sure," he said with a laugh, it was dark now and the stars were starting to come out. I love this time of day, it is always so peaceful. I parked the car in the small 5 space parking lot, smiled at Nathan and got out.

I walked over to the black swing sets, and lightly swung. Nathan got out and sat on the swing next to me. I looked over at him into his beautiful eyes and he smiled at me, that smile is the one that always makes me blush. I started to swing a little bit harder like I had finally gotten to the swings at recess after beating around 12 other kids.

"I can't believe my ex-bestfriend and my ex are together," I said laughing.

"Yeah, what the hell was that all about?"

"I honestly don't know, but I know that she is just doing it as revenge, that's just who she is," I explained to him.

"I am glad it doesn't get to you, I don't want you to get distracted," he said while reaching his hand out.

I took his hand and looked into his eyes.

"How have you been?" I asked him. We always talk about each other but I feel like today has been about me. I always want him to know that I care.

"I've been okay, happier now that I have someone to hang out with at school," he said with that smile.

I squeezed his hand, "Ooh do you want to go over to the monkey bars?"

"You know I do," He said.

I started climbing on the monkey bars even though my feet practically hit the ground. I saw Nathan climb on the other side towards me, I started swinging towards him until we met in the middle. I look in his eyes and he looks into mine, I see the ocean in his eyes. The waves and I can see us walking together. There is one more bar until we meet, I swing over to the bar and continue to look in his eyes and I smile.

Our lips move closer to each other, and I feel the soft wind of his minty breath on my face. My face is so close to him I can feel him, I see him suddenly move even closer to me, his lips are a centimeter away from mine and then...
