The morning of graduation came quick, I had been stuck in a muck of everything negative that had happened to me. In February I was a girl with a fake bestfriend, a loving father and no mother. Everything had gone wrong for me but I have learned to accept that, I have Nathan and I hope that never changes.
I curl my hair and and do my makeup to match my dress, I put on a formal navy blue dress it was short, it was puffy at the bottom. My school doesn't have a prom but each grade has one formal dance at different times of the year. For the seniors, it was right after graduation, which I thought was stupid I just wanted to get out of there.
I put on my gown and hold my cap in my hands and meet Nathan by the car, he was also wearing his gown.
"Hey," he said as he got into the drivers seat and started the car. I didn't respond and sat in the passengers seat buckling my seat belt. I look straight at the road ahead of me as Nathan started the short drive to our school football stadium.
"Hello, Destiny Hale." I said to lady with the clipboard, she was supposed to check me in.
I sit in a random seat and take out a phone, Nathan approaches and sat next to me.
We still have about an hour until we have to line up. Other students started coming in clumps. I was sitting in with my head on Nathan's shoulder.
"Hey, hey," Bliss says as she puts on her cap and sits next to me.
"It's on the wrong side," I said with a giggle as I fixed her hat.
Celeste came shortly after, with her tassel also wrong.
The teachers started lining us up alphabetically.

"Destiny Hale," I heard my name announced over the speakers, the sun shining down on me. I walk up and accept my diploma. I heard my mom shout a distant, "Wooo," I felt slightly embarrassed but walked off the stage and saw Nathan give me a bright smile.
*********
Nathan and I walked over to my mom, I gave her a hug and so did Nathan.
"I am so proud of both of you, let me take a picture."
I pose with Nathan, both of us holding up our diplomas. Behind my mom I see my brother and dad approaching. I stopped posing and walked over to both of them.
"What are you doing here?" I ask in monotone. Nathan moved to be about five feet behind me.
"I just wanted to say, I'm sorry for the way I acted... and the way I made Anthony act."
I wanted to be mad at him but I didn't want a riff between be and my father forever. Instead of saying anything I just hug both of them.
