After an hour or so of watching TV with Toby, she decided it was time for her to get started on dinner. Toby sat across from her at the large, marble island counter as she did so.

"Are you sure you're not just going to poison me with that?" Toby questioned jocularly. Once she finished chopping up her chicken into tiny pieces, Holly preheated her oven and put some water on the stove so that she could cook her pasta. The tall, chocolate eyed boy satrically scrutinising her, grinning from ear to ear.

The two of them sat across from each other at the dining table. Holly looked at Toby, hope filling her sapphire blue eyes. Toby lifted the fork up to his mouth, ready to dramatise the shit out of his reaction, however when he swallowed the food, his eyes widened. He looked at Holly, a surprised expression evident on his face. Within seconds, he took another bite, then another, and another. He had basically inhaled it.

"Toby!" Holly exclaimed, feigning disgust. "How many times have I told you to eat like a normal person?" He stared at her for a second before rolling his eyes. "I'm sorry! It's just.. I didn't expect it to taste this good, let alone be good at all." Holly took this as both a compliment, and an insult. Her feelings were conflicted on the matter. Holly took her time eating her food, Toby continuously eyeing it. She gave in. "You want it?" Holly asked, gesturing to the bowl of unfinished food sitting in front of her. He nodded his head furiously. For a man who had literally just ate, he seemed quite ravenous. "Well, too bad, bitchboy." She teased, laughing a little. "It's mine!" Toby shot Holly a sad look in hoped that she would give up and let him have it. "Fine!" Holly groaned, sliding her bowl over to him.

"I'm going for a shower, if you need anything, just knock on the door." She smiled before heading upstairs.

Toby sat there, absolutely demolishing the leftovers he'd been gifted within a matter of seconds. After he finished, he excused himself from the table and went back to sit on the couch and started watching some stupid dating show for like cowboys or farmers or some shit.

Around 20 minutes later, Holly walked down the stairs with a towel in her hair. "The fuck took you so long to just shower, cunt?" Toby antagonised. Holly took one look at him. "Just because your entire skincare routine is just a bottle of 3 in 1, doesn't mean mine has to be too! It takes time to look this good." She smirked, removing the towel from her head and flipping her hair around. Toby looked her up and down, scoffing loudly. "Don't diss me because I don't want to waste hundreds of dollars on stupid creams and face masks and all that shit."

Holly strutted up to him, sitting herself down beside him. "Whatever." She laughed. "Let's just watch something other than this cringey ass country dating show you're watching." Toby rolled his eyes as he grabbed the remote and lightly ditched it at Holly. "Well then, what do you think we should watch then, hmm?" He spoke in a low register. Holly would never actually admit to it, but the way he said "hmm" after some of his sentences, especially when he teased her, made her feel like a thousand butterflies were being released into her stomach. Holly stuttered, slightly flustered. He looked at her again with doe eyes. "Hmm?" Holly's heart began to race. "Oh fuck off!" She defended, punching his arm. Toby's gaze stuck to her. "Oh you wanna play that game huh?" He questioned, shoving her lightly.

Holly was taken aback for a second, a million thoughts going through her head. "Cunt, I will beat the shit out of you." She declared. Upon reading Toby's facial expression, she knew she'd fucked up. "Oh really now? Wanna bet?" Toby stood up, looking down at Holly for a second before picking her up and throwing her over his shoulder. "That's not fair! I didn't have time to defend myself!' Holly wailed. "Too bad." He laughed, letting her fall onto the couch once again. Holly grabbed a bunch of pillows, throwing them to the floor. "Fine, let's settle this then." She said, jumping onto Toby whilst his back was turned.

She grabbed onto him, trying to stay still as he attempted to shake her off. "Oh my god, Holly." He exclaimed, continuing his feeble attempt to rid himself of her. "You're like a fucking bug!" Toby laughed, finally succeeding. He pinned Holly to the ground, and looked down at her, staring into her eyes. Holly stared back. In that moment, there was nothing but pure silence. No giggling, no witty banter, nothing. Toby unconsciously leaned in, not breaking eye contact. Once his face was only an inch away from hers, Holly interrupted. "So!" She exclaimed abruptly. Toby released her from his grip, allowing her to get back up. The two sat on the couch, staying silent for a while.

Even though it was unspoken, the both of them knew that something was there. Something that would grow stronger and stronger with time, but of course, it would be fine if Holly denied her feelings and lied to herself and everyone else. Right?
