The school bell rung, signalling the end of class. The students excused themselves from their seats and flooded out the front gates and into the grassy area where they either started walking or waited for their rides home. Holly held Toby's note in her pocket as she mimicked her fellow classmates' routine. As she started her trek, she came across Tianah and Emily. The two girls stopped in their tracks to have a little chit chat with Holly.
"So how come you're walking today? I mean you usually get a ride home with like your dad or whatever." Tianah questioned. Emily nodded her head as to solidify her confusion as well. "Yeah, I'm just meeting up with one of my other friends at Altone, so i'll probably just go home with them after we finish hanging." The two girls could not poke a single hole in her logic, so the two left Holly and walked over to their car.
Holly started her trek from school to Altone Park alone. Around 10, maybe 15 minutes later, Holly arrived, and she spent a few minutes looking around for Toby. Her heart raced and her head pounded. She had no idea what to expect.
Not long after she got there, someone called out to her. It was Toby. Her heart sank a little when she heard his voice. "Hey." She turned around, her eyes glistening with tears. "I'm here, but not for you. I'm here for me. I just want you to know that you are nothing but scum for what you did to me. Did you think you were gonna get away with lying to me and Henry? Are you really that dumb?!".Toby's face fell. "Holly...". Before he could continue, she cut him off. "No. You don't get to explain anything. You got me to SLEEP with you, and then I find out that when you said Henry couldn't come it was total bullshit? Gosh Toby, I'm the most gullible person on this earth. I can't believe I trusted you."
Toby tried to defend himself, but to no avail. "No, Toby. You don't get to fuck me over like that and the. get a chance to explain yourself. I'd rather shove a cactus down my throat than listen to whatever bullshit excuse you wanna dish out. I'm done." Without saying anything else, Holly walked away as she wiped tears from her ocean blue eyes.
~time skip a few hours~
Holly lay in bed with her phone resting on the pillow beside her. Toby was still blowing up her phone. 23 missed calls and 45 texts in and she was still ignoring him.
Holly eventually drifted off to sleep. Toby continued to spam call and text her , but she was obviously not receptive.
~Toby's POV~
Toby stayed up all night making a series of desperate attempts to contact Holly. He couldn't and wouldn't sleep until everything was okay again. He couldn't deal with the silent treatment anymore. He couldn't deal with the new hang out situation. He couldn't deal with any of it.
After may hours of stressing, 3am came around. He took one look at the digital clock he had on his nightstand, and decided that this was the night he'd get her to forgive him. He stood up from his bed, and walked over to his desk chair to retrieve his hoodie. He snuck through the house until he reached the front door. From there, he grabbed his wallet and his keys and proceeded to slip outside the door and walked into the darkness, embracing the cold and chilly air.
He glanced down at his watch. 3:12am. As he trekked on on the long, dimly lit roads, he realised he knew exactly how to get Holly to forgive him. On his way to her house, he stopped at a local servo. However, it was no ordinary servo, it was the same one he went to when he first snuck into Holly's house. He went inside and grabbed the exact same things he had bought the first time around. At this point, a sense of deja vu hit him like a bus. He paid for his things and resumed his hour long journey.
It was now 4am, and Toby had arrived at her house. He walked over to the side where Holly's room was, where he picked up a small pebble and gently threw it up to her window. The first few times, he failed to capture Holly's attention, but on his 5th attempt, he got lucky. A very tired Holly approached the window, and gazed down at him before rolling her eyes and retreating from his view. He kissed his teeth and grabbed yet another pebble, and started his little attention grabbing routine again.
Eventually, Holly gave up and walked back over to the window where she opened it. "What are you doing here?!" I thought I made it clear that I didn't want anything to do with you." She queried angrily. Toby lifted his arms up, revealing the plethora of goodies he had in both hands. "Please.. Just let me in. I promise I can explain." Holly scoffed before turning around. Toby admitted defeat, and he went around to the front of the house where he would start walking back home. Just as he reached the sidewalk. He heard a door open. It was Holly. "Fine. Now get your ass in here before someone sees you."
