A few weeks had passed since the Taylor and Holly break up, and since then Holly had been spending lot if time with Toby. Henry was still around, but since he had the talk with Holly about his feelings for her and her feelings for Toby, he'd backed off a little. He spent most of his time working on his application for an apprenticeship with some family that lived on a farm.
On one particular morning, Toby and Holly had made plans to hang out. It was a day like every other; they were going to hang out at her house and just watch Farmer Wants A Wife while they binged their food.
Since her dad was out of town attending a conference for work, the two had her house to themselves. They made quick work of turning that time into a series of sleepovers.
Toby got there reasonably early, and he came bearing food. It was her favourite: McDonald's. He brought the food into the living room and sat it on the table as Holly switched to the correct channel. The pair sat as they usually did -Toby laid straight on the couch with his feet laid up, and Holly laid between his legs so that the back of her head rested on his chest.
This was beneficial for both of them, as Holly found comfort in hearing Toby's heartbeat, and Toby felt a sense of peace in being able to stroke her hair whenever he wanted. He'd never admit it, but he also took a particular liking to her shampoo and conditioner. It smelled of kiwi and strawberries. The duo lay on the couch for a few hours just watching their show for a while, before they both eventually fell asleep in each other's embrace.
Holly and Toby were asleep for a few hours when Toby shifted back into consciousness. He took one look at her and felt an immediate feeling of nirvana. She looked so peaceful when she slept, and her soft snoring was extremely endearing to him. He had come to realise that in the past few weeks, she seemed to be growing on him more and more. Instead of being annoyed by their banter, it became on of his favourite things.
He loved it when she giggled maniacally every time she found something funny. He loved her devotion to her friends and her family. There was nothing he didn't admire about her. That much had been made apparent to him. After a long and seemlessly endless train of thought regarding Holly, it hit him. He was in love with her.
He had considered that to be an option in the past, but he hadn't ever thought much of it. I mean he had other girlfriends and he hadn't felt like that with them before, so he thought that it could also be a platonic kind of love. He knew now that that theory was total bullshit.
Without making a sound, he slipped out from underneath Holly and made his way for the door, grabbing his keys along the way. He made his way out to his car and was quick to pull out and drive off.

Around 30, maybe 40 minutes had passed, and Toby was now pulling back into the driveway. He open and shut the door with as much caution as possible, trying his best to not make any loud noises. He had opted to leave the countless bags of food and other goodies in the back of his car. He walked back up to the front door, and he made his way back inside. He was pleased to see that Holly was still fast asleep on the couch, as his big romantic plan had not been compromised. He sat himself back down on the couch and just sat there in silence for a while as he scrolled through his socials. He wanted to lay back down with Holly, but he knew his sudden reappearance in her embrace would wake her.
He smiled to himself as he though of all the ways tonight could go down. He knew rejection wasn't an option here, they had done too many things together to be considered purely platonic. He allowed himself to take on quite a cocky attitude, as he knew his plan to tell her how he felt was absolutely perfect. He couldn't think of a single flaw. Except that maybe breaking and entering into the school is technically a felony. He didn't care though. He would happily go to jail if it meant that he could tell Holly he loved her in the most romantic way he possibly could. It was worth it. She was worth it.
