Ed's POV

Out of the corner of my, I could see Matthew keep looking at Meredith, and every time he does I get closer and closer to wanting to punch him in the face.

"So, I hope our little Eddie has been treating you right?" My mum asks Meredith. I'm quite glad that my mother and Meredith are getting along so well and my dad isn't being as rude as he usually is.

"Of course, he's amazing. Takes me on dates almost every week, not to mention my parents love him."

"That's fantastic, I can't wait to see more of you in the future." My mum replies, I know it's been her dream that Matthew and I grow up to have a wife and a family, but for the longest time, I didn't think I would. Matthew still doesn't really want that responsibility, but now that I've met Meredith, it doesn't seem like such an impossible thing.

"You as well." Meredith says just as I look at her. Next thing I know Thinking Out Loud is bursting through her purse. "Oh, sorry." She laughs looking at her phone. I truthfully didn't know her ring tone was our song. "Do you mind if I take this?"

"No, go ahead honey." My mum answers. My dad has been strangely quiet, probably examining any reason to make him not want me to be with Meredith, Matthew has been checking Meredith out the whole time.

As Meredith gets up and leaves the room with her phone in hand, I can sense her urgency, it must be her dad or mum.

Meredith's POV

"Hey, mama. Everything okay?" I ask quickly as I step out onto the sidewalk. London is a very loud city, never dark of silent.

"Well, I have quite a few things to say. First, I miss you so much honey. Second, Jack told me to tell you to call him and I quote 'Or I 'll fly over and kick her ass myself'. Third, I started dating again." She says the second one exactly how Jack would have said it.

"That's great, mom. I hope you find the special someone." I laugh. "Did you hear that I'm going to be an older sister?"

"I did! Your father called me and told me, I'm so exited for you. Maybe you and Ed will be the god-parents."

"That'd be so nice. Oh and tell Jack he has to call me. If I call him, I'll have to pay the extra money for being in a different country, if he calls me, he'll have to." I say in a joking tone but being serious. "Or tell him to Skype me."

"Will do."

"I have to go, mom. I'm at a fancy dinner with Ed and his family." I say with a smile that I try to hold back.

"Oh, I'll be the first person you tell when he proposes, right?" She asks in the same way I joked but was still serious about the manner.

"He's not going to propose, we've been dating for almost six months, not two years." I laugh, still hoping that he might.
