The return to school was fun with getting to see everyone again. Classes resumed as normal, and I was proud to see that Roger now joined me in my naps in the back of Binns's class. His good work ethic made it a whole term, he should be proud of that, but I have successfully corrupted him to be my nap buddy. We did go over werewolf code of conduct in that class, which I paid attention to it briefly, but since I already knew about it I spaced out again after a while.

Cedric and I would often joke around and partner together in Defense, and it turns out he's a really smart student. He's quick at learning the spells and uses them efficiently, so I can see why he becomes the champion later. He's really quiet most of the time though, he's a bit shy, but he's also just observant.

Adrian is actually loads of fun to debate with. He's clever with his words, just like me, so we have very snarky but hilarious conversations together. He's a pureblood, but not from one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight. He was the one who informed me that flying classes could be taken as an optional elective next year, which sounded great to me, less intensive than joining the house teams and still get an excuse to fly around.

"Charlie?" I say in surprise late one night. I was just sneaking back into the common room after losing track of time while training, and said boy is currently sneaking out of the common room.

"Abby?" Charlie asks, looking like a deer caught in the headlights.

"Prefect duties?" I smirk at him knowingly. It's not his night for patrols, he just did the early evening shift. "What's her name?"

"It's not like- wait, yes, yes a girl!" He says, quickly correcting himself and clearly scrambling for an excuse. "That's where I'm going, just sneaking out to meet a girl."

"Alright..." I drawl out, not believing him at all. "Then what's his name?" I ask, my curiosity piqued. I know he's not gay or into guys at all, I'm just curious how far into his current lie he'll go.

"There's no guy, I'm not meeting anyone! I mean, wait, I'm not meeting a guy." He says, getting lost in his own lies. Charlie's never been a good liar at all. I just stare him down knowingly for a while, the portrait door still open.

"Either come in or leave, don't make me hang here open all night!" The Fat Lady yells at us, and I step back to allow Charlie to join me in the hall.

"If you're not meeting anyone, then where could Prefect Charlie Weasley be sneaking off to in the middle of the night?" I taunt him, following him as he's trying to briskly walk away.

"None of your business, Abigail. Go back to the common room." He says shortly, but I check the map which I'm glad I still have open in my hand, and grab his arm, dragging him into a hidden passage way. "What the bloody-"

I reach my hand up to cover his mouth, "Shh, Filch." I whisper to him, and lead him further down the passage way. "You don't have to tell me why you're going wherever you're going, just let me help get you there, you almost just got caught."

"How do you know?" He asks suspiciously.

"I'm good at not getting caught." I grin at him, not showing him the map. "Now, where are you heading?"

"Forest." He admits sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. I beam at him in response, excitement growing in me. "No, you're not coming with." He tries to say, but I'm already taking off for the best route there. "Abby!" He whisper yells at me, but runs to catch up. "You're not letting this go, are you?"

"Nope." I say cheerily, popping the 'p' in the word playfully. I get him down to the forest easily, going to the area where Bruce usually hunts. "K, what are we looking for here?" I ask happily, and hear Bruce screech nearby. He swoops down and lands on my shoulder, scaring Charlie in the process.
