~ Abigail POV ~

I awoke back to a brief flash that connected me still to Tom's emotions, and I felt the torturous pain of his remorse for that moment. I screamed out in agony before it ended, then I collapsed forward, finding myself already kneeling over Oskar's head, the diary glowing blue over his body.

The diary itself began to rise, floating above the body slightly, and it was making the most heartbreaking screeching sound as it opened and the pages flipped as if in an intense storm. Smoke began to rise out of the diary, though it wasn't the inky black as all the other horcrux's had been. This was a grey smoke, dimly glowing and moving in a more fluid manor than the other smokes had been. I concentrated on the grey smoke, mentally guiding it towards the body below it.

I felt the vial in my pocket start to shake violently, Voldemort's master soul started to scream as well the more the grey smoke entered into Oskar's body. The pain of the link being severed must be excruciating for the master soul.

Once the last wisp of smoke entered into Oskar's body, the blue magic glowed it's brightest and clung tightly to him and began to transform the body. The features of his face began to morph and change, no longer resembling Oskar, but also not quite becoming Tom's 16 year old self. His new face began to look as if Tom had aged 10 years, though with minor differences to make it a blend of Tom and Oskar.

I took the soul vial out of my pocket once the screeching became the loudest, just as the blue glow began to leave Tom's new body. I raised the vial up above my head and threw it crashing into a wall to shatter against it. Voldemort's soul screeched one last time before it's inky black smoke dissolved into nonexistence, sending it into limbo.

Voldemort was no longer was tethered to this world, and Tom Riddle was no longer tied to Lord Voldemort.

I looked back to the man before me as the glow ended and his breathing increased from a sleeping state to a waking one. I backed away slightly to give him room to reawaken, and gasped when I saw his eyes shoot open. The body's previously blue eyes were now a dark whiskey brown color, a familiar brown that I recognized from the boy in my realm.

I took in his new appearance, noting the differences and similarities. His hair remained the long black with soft curls, his skin remained the same pale tone, but his facial structure was altered. While previously Oskar's nose was crooked from a prior break and was slightly on the large side, it now sat straight and center on his face and narrowed to a sharper point. His previously blue and hooded eyes were now a warm whiskey brown and were set below delicately arched eyebrows. His cheekbones were prominent and his chin narrow, both similar to before but slightly sharper than they had been. His previously slightly plump lips thinned to match closer to Tom's original ones, though were currently parted in startled panting.

Tom sat up slowly, looking at his hands and testing them out, opening and closing them slowly in disbelief, his breathing slowing down after the initial shock. He lifted his eyes up and locked them with mine, and though his face was different, I could still see Tom within his eyes.

"Tom?" I ask softly for confirmation.

"Abigail." He breathes out. His voice was also different, deeper than it had been inside of my realm but not as deep as Oskar's had been, and he spoke in his normal accent. "Did it work?" He asks, standing up slowly, taking it easy as he gets used to his new body.

"It worked." I say, tears of happiness forming in my eyes.

I stood as well and walked closer to him, but before I could allow myself to truly be happy, I needed to test a final thing. I needed to clear my 1% of doubt.
