"Hello, Draco." I greet the young boy as I walked past him in a hallway. He was with Crabbe and Goyle, but I ignored them both. "How are classes going?"

"Fine, they're all easy." Draco replies confidently. "I'm certainly better than Saint Potter." His cronies laugh, but I don't.

"Well, you do have the advantage of being raised in the wizarding world. But give him a little time, he'll be giving you a run for your galleons here in no time. He's already adapting to the coursework quickly, and his spells are strong." I say arrogantly, smirking at him. "Though I hear little Hermione is the top in your grade, showing both of you boys up."

"That little muggle born isn't a challenge at all." He sneers at me.

"Oh?" I responds innocently. "Or perhaps she's just the challenge you need. Surround yourself with those who are better than you, and you'll get better. Hang out with idiots and well..." I shrug innocently, walking away after a less than subtle glance at his cronies. The insult goes right over the cronies heads, and I hear Draco calling them idiots and storming off angrily, them following behind in confusion. I giggle to myself, having fun with our little minor interactions we have in passing.

It's Halloween today, so I'm just wandering around until the feast, where I will be setting up camp outside the trap door instead of attending the feast. I don't like Halloween anyway, and I haven't gone to any of the feasts for it so far. It's a trigger night for me, thanks to all my years in Gotham, and I usually choose to relax in solitude on this night. The twins and the rest of my friends think it's because it's the anniversary of the Potter's death, which certainly didn't help it, but my dislike of this day stems from long before it.

I'm curious if Harry and his friends ever found Fluffy. Neville and them did seem extra jumpy the last few days, so I'm guessing they did. I know tonight Harry and Ron will officially become friends with Hermione, and I want them to have that bonding experience, otherwise I would fight off the troll for them. But also, I can't wait to write home that Harry fought a mountain troll in his second month at Hogwarts, Dad's gonna love it. I'm halfway expecting for Harry to get a laughing Howler.

Once I get to the door in the dark corridor on the third floor, I do a disillusionment charm on myself. It's a 5th or 6th year charm, but I wanted to learn it early, so I did. I don't necessarily need it though, I'm a master at hiding in shadows already, but I do it just in case someone spots my face.

I wait around for about an hour before I heard screams coming from the Great Hall, and figure Quirrell just caused his distraction. I hear footsteps approaching quickly, and spot Quirrell running towards the door to Fluffy.

"Protego." I whisper out, and watch Quirrell bounce into the door and get knocked back. I suppress the giggle at how comical it looked.

"What is this? Did Dumbledore add new guards around it?" Quirrell asks himself quietly, then dispels the shield. I cast another one with a nonverbal spell, and he again dispels it. "Master, I do not understand this magic."

"Fool, you are not alone." I hear a high pitched whisper coming from him, and I step back into a crevice in the wall, hiding behind a statue.

"Homenum Revelio." Quirrell uses the human locator spell on me. I feel as if there's something swooping over me, and I know he got my location. I move swiftly away from where I was hiding, and cast a shield charm over myself as a jet of red flies from his wand. "Get over here!" He hollers out loudly, but runs towards the door again.

"Impedimenta." I say firmly, masking my voice slightly with my scarf and making it deeper. I watch as Quirrell freezes in place since my spell hit him in the back, but he's already countering it and freed himself.
