I waited until the weekend to finally put some attention to the diary. Snake speaking lessons with Harry have been going... slow, but he says I'm getting close to saying a few words. To him, it sounds like I'm saying half a word and then just randomly hissing or spitting, and that's helped him realize that's what he sounds like when he speaks to snakes. So for now, my goal of getting into the Chamber of Secrets is sidelined until I can get a few words worked out.

I had to admit I was... curious about the horcrux. An incomplete soul, locked away and stuck in a place of hate. It hits a little too close to home for me, since my journey started with being an incomplete soul. Granted, Riddle knowingly tore his soul apart as a means of immortality, whereas I was just born that way.

But still, I can't help the tiny 1% of me that pities him.

Which is why I want to talk to the young Tom Riddle. It's why I built up my Occlumency so much over the years, I wanted to see why he would damn his soul to be in the position mine was in before I started my journey. It's really just... a curiosity for me. I know my Konoha realm is strong enough to hold him from possessing me, Snape even begrudgingly complimented me last year, before the whole Quirrell thing, that my realm was one of the strongest he'd seen. He didn't phrase it that way of course, but it was inferred.

So that is how I ended up in the Room of Requirement, by myself with just the diary and a quill and ink.

I opened the book and wrote down firmly, 'Hello Tom Riddle.' And waited for a reply.

'Hello, you know me?' The book wrote back in an elegant scrawl.

'Yes, I do know you.' I replied vaguely.

'Who are you?' He asks back next.

'Anastasia Todd.' I lie, and write down my name from my last life. I don't want him to know that I'm from the House of Black, he'll assume I'm a supporter of his. I want to talk to him as a generic person, with no affiliation.

'It is nice to meet you, Anastasia.' He replies after a moment. 'What can I do for you?'

'I just wanted to talk.' I write down, 'Would you like to meet face to face?' I add on, feeling the tug on my mind as he is trying to enter, but his tug is slightly weaker than Snape's full powered Legilimency, and I can block it easily for now.

'I am just a book, I cannot meet you.' He replies back.

'No, you're not a book. You are a Horcrux.' I counter plainly.

'You really do know me, Ms. Todd.' He writes back after a very long pause. 'Who told you?'

'J.K. Rowling told me.' I smirk at my reply, and watch the diary go blank. 'Now, would you like to meet in my realm?'

'I am intrigued.' He writes. 'How do I enter your realm?'

'Read my mind.' I write back, and feel the tug again. This time I latch onto it, and allow him entrance into my Konoha realm.

I enter it as well, and look around to see the boy. He's about 16, with dark thick wavy hair, a handsome face, dressed smartly in a black school uniform that's a slightly different model than our current uniform. He is looking around the forest in surprise, a polite look on his face as he locks his dark brown eyes with me.

"Hello, Ms. Todd. This is a wonderful place, where exactly am I?" Tom asks me politely, his voice soft and comforting.

I can see why so many used to fall for his charm, he carries himself perfectly. Respectable, polite, with an almost believable level of sincerity. He's out of luck with me though, my past two lives taught me to see through people so easily, to read micro expressions and tones. I know how to analyze a person nearly instantly. Plus, I know exactly who and what he is.
