Molly kept true to her word for our punishments. For about two weeks. Then she was more than happy to send the twins to the cottage to play during the day or let us out and ride brooms, mostly just to get the twins out of her hair. Charlie also threw a fit to her, saying he needed his future beaters and chaser to be ready for the season. He still isn't giving up hope that I'll join the team.

I received letters from all my friends during the year. Angelina and Alicia both wrote me a couple of times, talking about where they were visiting or what fun things they were doing with their families, and I replied with similar news. Lee wrote about a few prank idea's his older brother recommended to him. Roger sent me an article about quidditch for his favorite team, he was trying to make me into a fan of them. Adrian wrote once and also sent me a bar of special chocolate from India that he knew I would like. He and his family were travelling to there for the summer, so that was really nice of him to send me something, and he was right, it was delicious. Cedric wrote a couple of times too, telling me about his new dog his dad got him. Dad even let me go visit him for a day, since he works with Amos Diggory and knows them enough to let me hand out there, plus they live near-ish to us. The dog was a Labrador, and I couldn't think of a more perfect dog for Cedric to have. Cedric named her Cosmey, which I thought was a cool name.

We took a trip ourselves for the summer, just me and Dad. Remus was working a new job, so he opted to stay behind and focus on that, and urged us to take the trip together without him. Dad and I went to Germany, and we also got the see a live quidditch game there too. It was Germany versus Bulgaria, and I recognized one of the players from the books, Levsky on the Bulgaria team. I had to admit, Bulgaria had a great team, and I couldn't wait to see them play in the finals in a few years.

Dad and I bought loads of souvenirs for my friends and Remus, and we also enjoyed eating all the different foods, both wizard and muggle. We stayed in a little magic village, which was the cutest little village ever, and was charming with little kids riding brooms around and magical pets just lazing about in the sun. Dad loved a good German beer, so we went to several different pubs to find the best one for him. I just enjoyed getting to be around a different culture, both magical and muggle. It was a very fun two weeks for us, and I looked forward to more vacations with him in the future. We've taken little vacations together before, but usually just weekend trips around the UK, this was our first time out of the UK.

The second year of school started, and I was happy to ride in the thestral-pulled carriages. A lot more people could see them in our age group, since sadly we were all toddlers or older during the war. The twins couldn't see them though, so they thought I was having a fit or something when I reached up and pet the skeletal horse to our carriage.

The welcoming song from the hat was friendly, the new class was larger than my own year, with about 50 students in it. Gryffindor got a dozen new students, including Katie Bell and Cormac McLaggen, the latter of which instantly annoyed me since he tried to be chummy with me, and his pompous attitude was worse even than Percy's or any of the Slytherin's.

Fred and George joined the quidditch team, along with Angelina and Alicia, though Alicia was only a reserve chaser. There was still two 7th year chasers from the last team, so they, Charlie, and Oliver completed out the new team. Charlie begged and pleaded me, and finally came up with a compromise idea to have me be an extra reserve for the team, and I only had to come to practice once a month and play if someone got injured. I relented at that since it was low maintenance. He trained me once a month to play any position, just in case, but focused on Seeker and Keeper. The team was half full of young people now, so they weren't playing as well as last year.

Flying lessons remained as an optional course for second years, so I decided to take it. It was a four hour class one Sunday a month. The class had about ten students in total, including Roger and Adrian. Cedric already made his team for the year.
