KABANATA 9

It's a sunny day in C City, the heat is reminding everyone that it's currently summer.

Today is Ethan's graduation day. It has been a week since he moved to Alpas’ house. A lot happened in a week and things were going so fast, they even kissed.

Alpas was showered with affection and engulfed with warmth. He has became accustomed with Ethan’s presence now and it's scaring him.

Alpas was pulled back from his thoughts when Ethan laughed.

“Male-late ka na niyan. Ano bang nasa isip mo?” sabi ni Ethan habang natatawa.

Namula si Alpas at pinagpatuloy niya ang pagkain. Ang mga guro ay mauunang pupunta sa paaralan habang si Ethan naman hinihintay niya sila Sheena at Diana para sabay-sabay na silang pupunta sa school.

Nang matapos silang kumain may bumusina na sa labas ng bahay.

“Si Yahree na yon. Mauna na ako,” sabi ni Alpas.

Ethan smiled and nodded. “Okay. I'll see you at school.”

Alpas waved his hand and went outside. He greeted his brother before hopping in the car.

After a couple of minutes, the couple arrived. They both hugged Ethan and handed his gifts.

“Ano na naman po ito? You already gave me a million,” Ethan said helplessly.

“Another grad gift?” Diana said while chuckling.

“Nay naman...”

Natawa lang si Diana sa reaksyon ni Ethan.

“Asan na yung toga mo? Bigay mo sa 'kin para maplantsahan ko,” sabi ni Sheena habang nakangiti.

Napatingin si Ethan sa kanya. “Naplantsahan na po, ma.”

“After pala ng graduation, didiretso tayo sa B City. Doon tayo magcecelebrate.” sabi ni Diana.

“Eh?” Ethan asked confusedly.

“Please?” Sheena pleaded softly.

Ethan immediately agreed and he nodded at the two. He can't refuse the couple and it's been a long time since he visited B City.

“Tara na, baka malate pa tayo,” saad ni Diana.

Sumakay lahat sila sa kotse at nagpatungo sa school. Tapos nilakad nila ang multi-function hall, doon kasi gaganapin ang graduation ceremony.

Sinamahan ni Ethan sina Diana sa upuan para sa mga magulang bago siya pumunta sa kaniyang upuan.

“Ethan!” masayang pagbati ni Carlos.

“Hello, Caloy,” sagot ni Ethan habang nakangiti.

Sumandal siya kay Ethan at bumulong. “Kumusta yung sugat mo?”

“Ayos na, salamat,” sagot ni Ethan.

It healed so fast that he almost even forgot that he had a wound.

Ngumiti lang si Carlos at umayos na sa pagka-upo.

Nilibot ni Ethan ang kaniyang paningin at nakita niya si Alpas sa tabi ng stage, may kinakausap na guro.

Ethan stared, waiting for the right moment. The right moment came when Alpas met his eyes and Ethan winked at him. Alpas immediately broke the eye contact with a noticable blush on his cheeks. Ethan chuckled to himself and started chatting with his classmates.

The ceremony started, they prayed, sung a song and so on. Then they were one by one called to go to the stage and get their diploma.

Then, it's Ethan's turn finally.
