December 27th.
(One Month Later)

After school was over Nico, Sam and I walked to the woodland area and over by the training area. It was close by Sector one too. We snuck past some soldiers who were looking for any walkers. They did a check up every two hours. Safety was not a joke over here.

I held onto my honey badger, ducking when Nico placed a hand on my shoulder. Sam followed my actions and ducked under the bush as well. I could feel the twigs in my hair and I tried so hard not to think about the bugs.

There are no bugs. There are no bugs.

"Radio in Hanson and tell him Sector 1 and 2 are clear." I heard a women's voice say right above us.

I held my breath, and looked at Samantha and Nico wide eyed. I was scared of getting caught, even though Nico has token us out of the base before, plenty of times. Although this was still all new to me, breaking the rules, considering I always stayed in the good graces of the adults.

Nico cracked a smile, obviously laughing at my panicked expression, Samantha only rolled her eyes. She was used to my goody goody side, Nico seemed to only laugh at it. At me.

In the month that we have lived on the base, Samantha, Nico, and I have gotten really close. Of course things with Nico started out ruff at first (only for like the first hour) but then I got use to him and actually started to enjoy his presence. Sam and Nico got along great from the start and they sometimes would even double team on me by making fun of my non-rebellious, child of God, ways. What can I say? I was practically a saint.

Well, I was anyway.

After the soldiers retreated to where ever they came from, Nico raised himself up just so he could peak to make sure the coast was clear.

He stood up and let out a boyish laugh.

"Oh man, Scarlet your face kills me every time." He laughed.

I glared at him all the while feeling myself turn red. Stupid Nico.

I smacked him in the shoulder, and walked to the familiar small hole in the wall. I placed my badger on my back, and held it open so I can walk through it. On this side of the base, the wall was actually a fence, it was one of those cheap silver ones with a bunch of circles, you know, the ones you can cut open with pliers.

I really have to start remembering the names of things.

Nico went in after me, then Samantha. I waited patiently for them, but kept checking for zombies after every ten seconds. I mean, I know I would hear them before anything but, you can never be to safe.

When I spotted a zombie a couple of yards away I raised my honey badger placing it in the soar spot on my shoulder. Kick back was a bitch...

Anyways it's rotting smell soon filled my nostrils as it got closer. I grimaced at it. It was not a pleasant smell at all.

After taking my time to aim, I let out a deep breath before placing my finger on the trigger and pulling it.

The shot was barely noticeable because thankfully, Nico had snuck me a suppressor for it.

He actually got one for all of us. Even for our hand guns.

"Nice shot Scar." Samantha said, as the limp body fell down to the ground.
