Day 3 : 4:30pm
I looked outside the passenger window and sighed.
My back was hurting from sitting in the car, my legs ached to be stretched, and apart from having a massive headache from the kids yelling, screaming, and crying all day, I say my day is just going peachy.
We are currently outside of a gas station. Our car was in great need of gas, and our stomachs were begging for food.
Now usually I'm all hands for eating junk food, but now, I want to go home and eat a nice home cooked meal.
I didn't understand why my mom was driving around Oregon. She won't tell me where we are going or what we are doing. She's being too secretive, and I personally don't like it.
I watched as she filled up the rest of the tank, then entered the car.
In the Gas Station my mom managed to find a dozen water bottles, and some chips as well. If we keep eating chips, I'm no doubt going to throw up.
My mom pulled out of the gas station and pulled back onto the road. I was about to ask my mom where the hell we are going when all of the sudden, I got a call.
It surprised me because I didn't know my phone was still alive, how it survived this long will always be a mystery.
I looked at the photo, it showed the face of the person calling me, only to see a picture of Sam. I answered it, almost immediately.
"Sam hey" I said.
My mom gave me a side glanced, as in a questioning matter. I pointed to the road, telling her to keep her eyes on it.
"Scarlet" Sam whispered through the other line.
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"Scarlet they're going to get me" Sam whispered again, her voice shaking.
I sat up, feeling dread run up and down my spine.
"Who is Sam? Are you okay?" I asked almost too quickly.
My mom looked at me again, this time a hint of worry showed in her features.
"She turned Scar."
"Oh god.... She turned. and she bit my dad too" Sam said whispering in fear.
I already knew who she was talking about. I knew her mom was going to be the first to go, but I didn't expect her to get her dad too. I didn't know what to do, or what to say.
Samantha's parents were gone. She was all alone, she has nobody.
"Is nana going to hurt us?" I heard a tiny voice speak.
I closed my eyes and shook my head. No... I heard Sam sniffle before shuffling around.
"No, I won't let her" Sam told the innocent child in a hushed voice.
I then heard a loud bang come from her end. Sam and the child both screamed in terror.
"Where are you?" I asked through the line.
I already knew what was going to happen. Wasn't it obvious? Sam was going to get bit, and I'm not there for her. I can't help her...
"Scarlet! She found us! I'm in my room. Oh god what do I do, What do I do?!" Sam said beginning to panic.
