S C A R L E TI quickly scooped up the last bit of corn I had in the can and looked up at Sam to see her finish her sandwich.
"What time is it?" I asked.
I knew the schedule of the base like the back of my hand and I had to make sure we weren't going to be found when they came to check this sector of the base.
"8:50 in the morning." She said swallowing her bite.
I started to gather up my trash, and grabbed a bag to place it inside.
"We should go to the cellar." I addressed.
Roman and Raiden were both in the middle of their second sandwich, when they looked up at me and nodded.
Have you ever seen someone scarf down a sandwich before?
I cringed in disgust when both of the guys made the sandwich disappear.
"What type of abra ca dabra was that?" I asked, as Roman and Raiden tried to chew their foods, that they forced into their mouths.
Ew.
Both of them cracked a smile when they finished their sandwiches.
"It's called hunger" Raiden said, patting me on the back as he threw his trash in the plastic bag.
Roman threw his trash away as well.
"What he said" Roman smiled.
I jumped up, reaching for the attic stairs handle. When I finally got it down I grabbed the bag of trash and carried it up into the attic. Samantha followed, with the bag of weapons and food, while Raiden carried the other bag. Roman came in next and passed me my honey badger and the folded up map.
"Thanks" I told him, grabbing my gun and map.
Roman nodded, and sat down by Raiden and Sam while I brought the stairs up.
Once I finally closed it. I tried to find my way around the very dark attic. Once I found my flashlight I turned it on and pointed it at the group, who sat silently against the back wall under the small oval shaped window.
"What time is it?" I asked Sam.
"9 am"
I nodded and took a seat beside Roman, ignoring the dusty smell the room gave off.
"What now?" He asked.
I looked at him, flash light in hand.
"Now, we wait." I told him.
He nodded for a couple of seconds, looking away before turning back to face me.
"What are we waiting for exactly?" He asked.
I smiled lightly at his confused state, that's when it registered that he had no idea the army did inspections in the houses in this sector at exactly 9:15 am.
"For the army to do a sweep in the house. They always come around 9:15 to do a perimeter check in every house on this block." I told him.
Roman nodded, and covered his eyes, most likely bothered by the flashlight's light. I pointed it away from him and placed it on the floor in a upward position against the wall. So that way the light was pointed upward and it lit up the room a tiny bit better, with the help of the tiny amount of sunlight that shone through the small window.
No longer having to hold the flashlight, I crossed my arms over my chest.
"How do you know all this?"
