Haki.

Haki is a spiritual energy that lays dorment in most people. It's something that comes about with intense training and ongoing persistence. Most people find one sub sector that they are good at and spend all their time boosting it, making it their specialty that they can always fall back on in battle.

Haki can be put into three divisions. Observation, Armament and Conquerors. The last one is more rare then the other two and cannot be learned. It only has a place in a few select people with the makings of being a supreme ruler.

Ever since I got to the island, mother has been training me in how to use my Haki. She can use all three forms of Haki but I can only use two. She's been training me to use my Armament and Observation Haki which is also called the Colour of Observation and the Colour of Arms.

Armament Haki allowed me to use my spiritual energy to harden either the body or the weapon I'm using while in combat. It is used for both offensive and defensive techniques as well as allowing the person using it to hit Devil Fruit users who are seemingly untouchable with physical attacks.

Observation Haki gave me the ability to sense the presence of others when they aren't in the vicinity of my eyesight. I could easily tell the power levels of others when looking at them. I could physically feel other peoples emotions and empathize with them because what they feel, I'll feel as well.

The last thing I could do was sense the future. I couldn't control this one as it just happened at the most random moments. When I'm fighting an opponent, I can sometimes see what the persons next move to beat me will be and use my abilities to avoid that outcome. The more advanced version of this was to see farther into the future with events that had yet to come. Despite nine years of training, I couldn't do that yet. But every night I try just so I can awaken that part of me.

Mother felt like I should master all the areas of each type of Haki I had instead of focusing only on one part of it. She said it would do me better later on if I ever had to fight my way out of a situation. I doubted I would ever leave the island but it was still something nice to do to pass the time.

I was standing at Marineford. There was currently a war going on between the Whitebeard pirates and the World Government. This battle would turn the tides of the sea forever. Would Whiteboards reign end? Would the World Government finally gain control of the seas? Or would Whitebeard overtake the Marines and prove that he was in control of the world whether they liked it or not?

There were debris in my face. Looking around there were blurry figures fighting each other to the death. Loud explosions, gunfire, sword fighting. You name it and it was probably there. The battle was a bloody one and neither side would come out completely unscathed.

I had to block out all the strong emotions of everyone around me or I would have gone insane from the raw tension. I didn't need to feel people's deaths or passion or hatred or sickly love to all this madness. It's maddening. Yet despite that I still felt one connection still intact and the overwhelming emotions that came with it.

I look around and see two faces that weren't blurry, "Luffy?" I exclaim in surprise. He was running up this concrete pathway and Grandpa was in his way. They looked like they were about to go at it, neither of them backing down.

Ferocious was the best word to describe it.

I covered my mouth in surprise as Luffy got the jump on grandpa and sent him flying into the ground... No. He didn't get the jump. Grandpa chose not to fight him or else Luffy would have been done for. I could tell he wasn't strong enough to fight grandpa yet.
