Chapter 11 - "Team Spanna!"

Spencer's POV
"Hey." I say to my dad who was sitting at the kitchen counter.
"I'm leaving Spencer, just one second." My dad chuckles grabbing his shoulder bag and slinging it over his shoulder. "Will you be okay while I'm gone?" He asks pulling me into a small hug.
"I'll be fine dad if I get lonely I have my girls." I say returning the hug. By the girls I was referring to Aria, Hanna and Emily we were going to have a sleepover tonight anyway. My dad pecks me on the forehead before retrieving his keys from the counter.
"I don't want to leave you Spence. Especially not now." My dad was giving me a meaningful look. I knew he was still worried about me after I went through that whole stage after my mom's death but I had come to terms with my loss. Sure I still miss her like hell and some days are worse then other but I'm doing okay.
"I'm fine, I promise. Have fun on your trip." I say and my dad gives me one last smile before he exits out the door.

Not long after my dad leaves there's a knock on the door. I turn around and see Aria standing there peering in through the glass. Immediately, I smile it was almost involuntary like my mind reacted before I could properly think. I open the door and pull her inside. The other girls would be here soon and I was pretty sure Hanna would ban Team Sparia for the night. it's not that Hanna had anything against our relationship, at least I don't think she does, it's just she likes me on her team for the games because I'm a know it all according to her. "Hey there." Aria mutters. I waste no time before I'm pinning her against the wall and kissing her neck and collar bone tenderly. "Spencer." Aria half moans and half gasps.
"Mm?" I ask not breaking my grip or my lips from her neck. I feel Aria tangle her fingers in my hair so I decide to let my hands wonder a little. My arms that were wrapped around her waist started to slowly move down her thigh all the while I was kissing her neck. I rub Aria's thigh gently and smile when I feel her shiver at my movements. "You have... to... stop." Aria says between breaths and unconvincingly. I pull my lips away from her neck and begin to work on her lips. Somehow we stumbled over to the couch where I lay Aria down and continued my assault. A knock on the door woke me from my daze I had been in, I jump up startled by the noise and land on the floor beside the couch. Aria bursts out laughing and peers over the edge of the couch. She still looked like she was breathing heavily. "Are you okay?"
"I'm better than okay." I say smiling. I stand up and go to answer the door.
"What happened to you?" Hanna asks.
"What do you mean?" I ask incredulously.
"You're hair Spence. Were you two getting freaky?" Hanna says bluntly and I laugh at her. Hanna was such a good friend even when she could be a little blond at moments or completely oblivious she always seemed to ease tension or make you feel better. Granted if Emily and Hanna hadn't shown up I had no idea where Aria and I had been headed. "Hey Em." I say ignoring Hanna's comment and pulling Emily in for a hug.
"Okay game of charades first!" Hanna yells suddenly excited. "I call Spencer." She grabs me before I can say anything else and I see Aria look at me. "Team Spanna!" Hanna yells and I connect eyes with Aria and the message was clear Team Sparia were better. Emily laughs but pulls Aria beside her.
"You're on." Aria says a sly smile on her face.
"You're going down." Hanna and I say in perfect synch maybe we were a good working dynamic or maybe that was just a fluke.

"A film." I state calmly as Hanna makes a camera action with her hands. Aria and Enily were on the other side of me and it was a tie. I needed to get this right so that Hanna and I would win and Aria and Emily would lose.
"First word." Aria says her voice on the edge of excitement. Hanna proceeds with her first action for her first word. She raises a leg off the ground in a stance that looks like she's about to kick something. A number of options run through my head the cogs working I hear Emily call out "Kick!" And Hanna shake her head with a smile. "Karate." I shout and Hanna points at me signalling I got it right. She continues with her second word and gets on her knees on the floor and sucks her thumb. "Karate kid!" I explode and Hanna throws her hands in the air in triumph.
"Yes!" Hanna cheers and shows the slip of paper with the film on. Aria and Emily looked disappointed but it was all in good fun. "We won, we won, whoop!" Hanna gloats. We all laugh at Hanna's ridiculous victory dance and I hug Hanna.
"Movie time?" I ask and all the girls nod in approval. I leave the movie picking to Emily and Hanna while Aria and I grab some snacks and drinks from the kitchen. While Aria stands by the microwave waiting for the popcorn to cook I wrap my arms around her waist and pull her closer.
"Congrats." Aria says her smile sending waves of happiness through me, I laugh slightly.
"Thank you and good game." I say back before leaning my forehead against hers. "There's something I need to tell you." I say and I see Aria's eyes flash with curiosity and fear.
"Is this bad or good?" Aria asks her voice controlled.
"It's neither. I have to help out at this gallery opening evening, my dad volunteered me, anyway I was hoping that maybe you'd come along?" I ask.
"Is it at Hollis? Because I was actually thinking about going." I was a little surprised that Aria knew about the gallery, it wasn't like it was a famous artist, just an art opening showing the new generation of artists. I guess it makes sense, Aria was an amazing artist and she loved looking at art.
"Yeah that's the one." I answer back. the microwave beeps and Aria twists around in my grasp and pulls the bag out. She pours the popcorn into a bowl before turning back around to look at me with a huge grin on her face. She wraps her arms around my neck and I keep my firm grip around her waist. "Maybe we could go somewhere after?" Aria asks her voice a whisper.
"Like where?" I ask a small smile creeping its way onto my face. Aria closes her mouth and I knew that she wasn't going to tell me. I lean against her until she's up against the kitchen counter.
"That was quite a session before the girls got here." Aria says a mischievous grin on her face.
"I can do better." I reply before closing what little space there was left between us.
"Blah!" Hanna says loudly and I break the kiss to see her standing in the doorway of the kitchen a disgusted expression on her face. "Will you two get a room." Hanna teases grabbing a cup of soda I had put out. I reluctantly let go of Aria and cross the room to Hanna. Emily trailed into the kitchen and stood beside Aria.
"What did you guys pick?" I ask curious.
"The Fault in Our Stars." Hanna says excitedly.
"Really, Han?" I ask raising an eybrow.
"Oh cmon it'll be fun." Hanna says smiling enthusiastically.
"Yeah." Emily chimes in before throwing a price of popcorn in the air and catching it in her mouth.
"Alright, alright, let's go then." I say before grabbing the drinks and heading back to the living room. I settle down on the couch and Hanna sits beside me with Aria and Emily on the other side. I throw a blanket over the four of us and start to watch the film. Half way in I'm not sure how but somehow Aria and I's hand had become intertwined behind the back of the couch. I rub small circles on the back of her hand smiling to myself.
