Tabitha pressed her empty soda can through the recycle bin's flap. She stood in what looked to be a deserted convenience store. Underfoot, a school of fish swam, their forms visible due to the translucent nature of the flooring.
As the recycle bin's flap clattered to a stop, a faint giggle brought a slight eep to the girl's lips. She spun around, her brown eyes checking her surroundings, but she found no source for the sound.
"Was that just my imagination?" She jumped when the fluorescent lighting flickered, a second giggle happening in response. "I think someone's watching me," she worried, heading down an aisle towards the store's exit.
Tabitha picked up speed, her shoes tapping rapidly on the translucent surface beneath her. She passed through the doorway, making it back outside. The pink haired girl skidded to a stop on the street (also translucent), rows of cerulean buildings on each side. She dropped to her knees, panting.
A giggle sounded just behind her. "Eek!" she screamed, her blood going cold. Fearfully, Tabitha twisted around, stumbling to her feet as she did so. Just a few feet away was a woman made of water.
"Water Nymph. You're a Water Nymph?"
The watery girl nodded and giggled.
"That explains the giggling. Nice to meet you, Nymph." Tabitha extended a hand, smiling.
Nymph stared at the pink haired girl's outstretched hand for a moment, cocking her head to the side cutely. Slowly, she reached out, and the two girls shared a handshake.
