"So, how's New York?" Sam asked from the other end of the phone. "When are you coming back to school?"

"New York is so much fun and I never wanna leave," said Juniper as she sat on the floor of the NYADA dance studio in front of the table where Kurt and Santana were sitting and discussing auditions for a band that the brunette boy was starting. "And as far as coming back to McKinley goes, Kurt's forcing me to go home in no more than two weeks. Carole's already up ass for missing so much for no reason other than 'I don't want to go.'"

"You're not really missing much, anyway. Oh, Blaine says hi."

"Hi, Blainey."

"Juniper says hi," Sam whispered to someone – most likely Blaine.

"So what dumb lesson is Schuester forcing you guys to do this week?" asked Juniper.

"Katy Perry versus Lady Gaga," the blonde replied. "Hey, quick question. Who do you relate to more? Katy or Gaga?"

"Um... Lady Gaga. She's a badass just like me," said the brunette.

"Sucks for you, you have to be Katy."

"What in the name of hot actresses are you talking about?"

"Well, the assignment is that all the Katy's have to sing a Gaga song and all the Gaga's have to sing a Katy song."

"That's such bullshi- ow!" Juniper cried out in pain as Santana kicked her in the ribs. She pulled the phone away from her ear and turned to look up at the Latina. "What the fuck was that for?!"

"Someone's auditioning," said Santana. "So drop the attitude and put the phone down."

"I've been reprimanded," Juniper said into the phone. "I gotta go. I'll call you later."

"Bye," said Sam and the call ended.

Juniper set her phone down next to her and turned her attention to the front of the room and saw a man in a glittery black suit with a matching tophat. His eyeliner was bolded around his eyes, really making them pop and complementing his whole look.

"Have you prepared a song?" asked Kurt.

"Yeah, of course," said the man, who's name on the sign up sheet was Starchild. "It's by one of my favorite artists, somebody that always inspires me to be myself no matter what other people think."

As soon as the song ended, Santana and Juniper both stood up and clapped for Starchild.

"Dude, that was freaking epic," the younger girl praised with a huge smile, her hands beginning to hurt from how hard she was clapping.

"I would not be embarrassed to share the stage with you," said Santana.

"Thank you," said Starchild.

"Thank you for your time, Starchild," said Kurt, annoyed that someone else was just as talented as him. "It's not a fit."

"Are you insane?" asked Juniper, turning around to face her brother.

"I'm sorry, would you mind just stepping outside for a moment while I bitch-slap some sense into my friend?" Santana asked, sending her million-dollar smile in Starchild's direction.

"No, I don't need a minute," said Kurt. "I've made my decision. Your aesthetic is striking, Starchild, but it's a little outré for the team that I'm assembling. But if you're willing to tone down your look, maybe I'd reconsider."
