Misery and Destruction

Avenger's Compound, New York- 2023

Opening her eyes, Nish could hear ringing in her ear before she quickly shook her head causing it to stop. She groaned as she stood. She winced at the pain that shot through her stomach. Looking down, Nish could see that she had been impaled by a rod. She quickly removed it and discarded the rod that was covered in her blood before grabbing onto her sword that had landed a few metres away. She was annoyed by the hole that was now in her top. 

"Rhodey, Rocket get out of here." Bruce groaned as he continued to hold up a rock that was about to crush them. Gathering her senses, Nish ran to Rocket who was struggling to get up. She lifted the metal that was crushing him giving him enough time to escape.

She spotted Rhodey on the floor unable to walk so grabbed him from underneath the shoulders and dragged him away from danger.

"Guys!" Banner yelled as they were greeted by a furious stream of water.

"Mayday, mayday! Does anybody copy? We're in the lower level, it's flooding!" Rhodey spoke through the comms. But received no reply. "We're drowning! Does anybody copy? Mayday!"

Nish swam underneath to try and find a weak point for them to escape, but it was no use. She swam back up to find Rhodey and Rocket nearly under.

"There's nothing." She apologised.

Rhodey accepted his fate as he turned to Rocket who was beginning to panic. "See you on the other side man."

Meanwhile in Wakanda, Okoye was finishing up papers. She was then interrupted by a warrior.

"Something weird is happening on the field." The Wakandan huffed out as he had just ran from one side of the palace to the other.

Okoye stood up and grabbed her spear. She ran to the nearest balcony that faced the field. When she looked over to the field, she could see dust beginning to form into figures.

"Round up the tribes and head to the field." Okoye ordered as she made her way to the garage to get a vehicle. As she rounded the corner, she bumped into a confused Shuri.

Okoye looked at her in shock.

"Okoye," Shuri was relieved to find someone. "Where is everyone? Is Vision okay? I must have passed out in the lab cause there's no more fighting."

Okoye went and hugged Shuri. Shuri was shocked by the affection but nevertheless she returned the action.

"Are you okay?" Shuri asked as she pulled back.

"I am now." Okoye replied. "Quick, grab your armour, we need to head to the field, I'll explain everything on the way." Shuri nodded as they both ran to the lab.

In the forest, Bucky stood up and looked around. He couldn't understand where everyone had gone. Panic then set in. "Raz? Nish?" He called out in hopes of a reply. He then heard footsteps and aimed his gun at the oncoming attack but then relaxed when he saw it was Raz. Bucky was confused as he wasn't there two seconds ago.

"What happened? Where's Nish?" He asked knowing that the two of them were always together.

'You dusted away and then the same thing happened to me.' Raz began to sign. 'But that was only 5 seconds ago so I don't know where she is.'

Bucky continued to look around for any other form of life with Raz following closely behind. They then bumped into Sam and T'Challa who were both confused as well. The group walked out of the forest where they found Wanda being comforted by a tree who seemed to have human-like features.
