Now what exactly does someone who's never actually been on a date wear to a date that's not really a date?
I glared at my reflection in the mirror, scrutinising the weird fit of my suit pants and shirt. I looked akward as hell.
It's weird how someone like me had never been on a date before, hell, I'd never had an actual girlfriend before. Apart from one. But we don't talk about Amy.
I'd only ever seen the teeming girls flocking after me as sex. Nothing more. Now I was going on a fake date with a girl who had serious attitude problems and was adamant on not having sex with me, how the hell did that work out?
I sighed in frustration and pulled out my phone. It was handy having a little sister who majored in fashion design.
She picked up on the second ring, her voice as bright and cheery as always, "Brother? Wow, I'm surprised you even remember me."
"Nice to speak to you too gummy bear."
She groaned, "I told you to stop calling me that, asshole, I was six ok?"
I laughed, "I'm never going to let that go."
When Yoshiko was six, there had been a tragic accident where she had somehow lodged a green gummy bear up her nose so far we couldn't get it out. It resulted in a trip to the hospital with a giant snot looking gummy bear.
"Did you call me to just to make fun of me, dear beloved brother?"
I rubbed my temple and sighed, "Promise you won't laugh at me?"
"Spit it out."
I breathed out, preparing myself for the humiliation, "Ok, I need you to help me pick something to wear for a date."
There was silence on the other end. I started to realize how stupid those words sounded coming out of my mouth.
"Kio?"
"Yeah?"
"Are you being serious right now?"
"Unfortunately."
"I've been waiting for this forever!" She screamed. I then had to pull my phone away from my ear as a series of ear-splitting squeals and giggles rang down the phone.
"Koko could you please calm down? It's-"
"Kio you don't understand how long I've been waiting for this! Does that mean you finally have a girlfriend?"
"No! Fuck Koko, could you just listen to me?"
She giggled, "Ok fine, I'm sorry. You can't blame me for being excited ok?"
I sighed, already regretting my decision, "Look, just help me out ok? Don't make this any harder for me than it already is."
Her voice turned stern, "Ok but you have to tell me everything about her. Promise?"
I rolled my eyes, "There is nothing to tell."
"Bullshit Kio," She laughed, "This Is the first time you've actually liked a girl enough to go on a date. Well, apart from Amy-"
"We don't talk about that."
She sighed deeply, "It was ages ago, why are you still touchy about it? Anyways, I know how much of a womanising asshole you are so this is big news."
