Standing outside of the bustling house with Chloe dressed up in white as slutty angel and me in an identical costume but black, I deeply regretted the idea.
I had never had a problem with parties, usually I just hung out in the back somewhere and smoked a blunt if anyone was passing one around. But the fact that I knew Kioshi was in there somewhere unsettled me deeply.
I pulled my black leather jacket closer around me as we made our way through the people on the front lawn. I wasn't a stranger to dressing slutty, I just really wasn't in the mood to get hit on.
"I need to find him quickly, what do you think he's gonna be wearing?" Chloe took my arm and began dragging me through the crowds of people inside.
We reached the kitchen which had been turned into a make-shift bar. She grabbed two cups of vodka and pushed one into my hands before pulling me away again quickly.
I was content as I sipped my drink, following her to wherever the hell she was taking me. I looked around at the costumes others were wearing.
There was a guy over at the beer pong table we walked by who was dressed as Santa even though it was nowhere near Christmas, a few girls dressed as bunny rabbits, a guy dressed as the hulk, another guy dressed as what could only be a greek god and a girl as a police woman of some sorts.
Chloe pulled me to a stop at a couch which I didn't hesitate to throw myself down upon next to a doctor and donald trump who were making out.
I took a large swig of my drink, ignoring the dirty stare from the doctor, "I'll stay here whilst you look for him ok? I don't want to get in your way."
I was just hoping to hell she wouldn't drag me along with her to all four corners of the earth as she searched for Kioshi. Thankfully, she simply nodded before dashing off to find her prince charming who was most likely balls-deep in another girl.
And that was probably accurate. However beautiful Chloe or any girl was, she was still nothing but sex to people like Kioshi. It was seriously stupid of her to even think she could possibly change someone so used to that stupid way of thinking.
I tipped back my drink, finishing the last drops and reaching for the bottle of vodka on the table before me. I poured myself a full cup and tipped it back, taking a few long swigs.
The burning sensation made its way down my throat and settled in my stomach.
I finished the last of the cup and proceeded to pour myself another. I had the cup raised to my lips, ready to down it like I had the other, when I caught something across the room in the corner of my eye.
I turned, lowering the cup, to observe the figure who seemed to be looking my way.
At least I was sure he was, behind his ghost face mask.
I couldn't make out who it was behind the mask but I was sure they were looking at me.
They stood, leaning against the wall, arms crossed and head tilted slightly in my direction. They were dressed head to toe in black with a tight black turtle neck that hugged an impressive build.
And the mask that hid the mysterious face.
Maybe they weren't looking at me. I turned back, raised the cup to my lips again and took a few more gulps. I felt chills creep up my body. I looked over at ghost-face again. They still hadn't moved and still seemed to be watching me.
