"What did you come here to tell me?" I breathed, lifting my chin high as I stared him down.

Oh god, I hoped he couldn't see how much I was trembling with anticipation of what was probably going to be the worst news of my life. I glanced the way we came, silently cursing myself for following him this far. The cafe we'd been at was out of sight as we stood behind a large tree. If I screamed, would anyone hear me? Would Kioshi hear me?

"He's not gonna help you."

I stilled. "What?"

"He's occupied. Some bitch called Amy or something," He shrugged.

I narrowed my eyes, "How do you know her?"

"She approached me about you, offering a chance to speak with you."

I frowned, my brain failing to figure out what the hell Kioshi's ex would want with Adam, "Why would she do that? And what did she want in return?"

He shrugged again, "She's got something with that asshole."

"Who? Kioshi?"

His eyes darkened at the name and he gave a stiff nod.

I cringed as the pieces slotted together like a jigsaw puzzle. Somehow, that manipulative bitch who had done all those fucked up things to Kioshi had found about Adam, and was using him to probably fuck with him even more. I balled my hands into fists, an indescribable rage filling my head. Hadn't she done enough to him? Why the hell was she suddenly appearing back into his life after the shit she put him through?

"He's probably taking her home to fuck her as we speak Ivanna," Adam rolled his eyes.

I inhaled a deep breath to reign in my anger as I stared at my own personal living hell on earth.

Adam with his dark chestnut hair and his dark chestnut eyes had once been my saviour. He was the person I clung to when I had nowhere else to turn and nobody else to go to. I'd once looked into those eyes of his and convinced myself I saw love and honesty which contrasted greatly to the vicious narcissist he truly was.

"You don't know Kioshi at all."

He scoffed, "I've heard enough to know he'll be screwing her brains out by the time the day is done."

"You don't know what she did to him, what she put him through."

I didn't know why I was suddenly defending him when I would have agreed with the statement before. But then again, that was before I knew what Kioshi had been through, before I understood.

"Well-"

"What did my parents say Adam? Just get it over with, I don't want to be near you a second more than I have to."

A muscle twitched in his face, "Did you ever even love me Ivanna?"

His question took me by surprise but I refused to let it show, "That's not what we're here to talk about."

He gritted his teeth, "Did. You. Ever. Fucking. Love. Me."

"Adam," I snapped, "You have no choice but to convince yourself your in love when the person goes out of their way to make sure your completely dependent on them."

He pulled a face, "What does that even mean?"

I narrowed my eyes, "You didn't take me into your house when I got kicked out because of the kindness of your heart, asshole."
