Pie dough... Pie dough can be tricky and
finicky to work with, and it can be messy.
However, I have a few helpful tips and
tricks to share with you that might help!

It is best to make this type of dough in a
cooler area. Heat and humidity will cause
the shortening in the dough to melt, and
may result in your dough being too soft
and sticky to work with. To solve this
matter; make sure that you are using ice
cold water, keep the shortening cool, and
chill the dough as often as needed.

Although, ice water is used when making
pie doughs, use a portion of the water and
heat it. The salt and sugar won't dissolve
very well if the water is too cold. This can
affect the appearance of your pie dough,
and in turn, the crust once baked. There-
fore, take some of the water and heat it
to dissolve the salt and the sugar. Once
done, add it to the rest of the ice water.
