Lemons – Citrus Limon, are the fruit
grown from a small-evergreen tree
that is native to South Asia and North
Eastern India. However, lemons are
known to be grown and found in other
areas of the world as well.
And speaking of which, it is said that
the lemons that are grown in Italy have
a much more "pleasant"/sweeter pith
(white flesh underneath the rind) than
those found in other regions.

The medicinal benefits of lemons are
pretty well known. In the past – and
even today, they are known to be used
to prevent; scurvy, colds, and flus. Their
richness in vitamin C surely plays a major
role in this. Lemons may also; help lower
cholesterol, reduce weight gain, prevent
kidney stones, and may possibly prevent
anemia.

Magickally, lemons are used in spells
and rituals revolving around; romance,
love, friendship, purification, beauty,
happiness, removing any blockages and
negative energy regarding mental health,
self love, removing hexes and jinxes, sun
magick, and clarity.

In terms of kitchen witchery, you may want
to bake something with lemons and share
that with a partner to ensure commitment.
For protection and clearing out negative
energies, simply cut a lemon in half and
then segment it into quarters (do not cut
all the way). Then take some salt and fill
the crevices up. Once done, leave it on a
dish near doorways and/or windows. This
will absorb any negative energy that may
enter and linger in your space/home.

To further note, these happy creations
are associated with; the Greek Goddess
Artemis; the signs, Pisces and Cancer; the
moon; water; feminine energy; and the gem-
stones, rose quartz, citrine, and amazonite.

And as a fun bit of information, did you
know that lemons can be used as a battery?
Though, it won't be one that is necessarily
"powerful" as it would be a rather weak one.
Also, you can use lemon juice to write a
message to be viewed secretly. All you would
need to do is write it and wait for the "ink" to dry. Then, hold the paper over a heat source (candle) to reveal the "secret" message.
