Sasuke sat at his desk going through the multiple worksheets laid out before him. Worksheets he'd been putting off for a good while and still would've if it weren't for Yumi swinging by earlier to let him know she couldn't do her job if he didn't do his.

Now it was almost midnight and he still sat there only halfway done.

He didn't like having Yumi constantly around, especially not when he was buzzed. It was like he saw her more than he used to.

She was always passing through the halls whenever he was out of his office, always walking down the hallway passing his door whenever he was in his office, always bumping into him either in the mornings when they were about to clock in or afternoons when they were about to clock out.

He didn't like it.

Seeing her pale-pink hair pass by the corner of his eye made his chest drop every time, his mind immediately assuming it'd be Sakura and even more so when it was foggy from the alcohol.

He especially disliked it when she walked into his office to nag him about finishing his work the same way Sakura would nag him about going for his checkups back when they were genin. She was always shy about it, yet tried her best to look intimidating even though her cheeks matched the color of her hair.

Yumi's mere existence pissed him off.

He didn't want to think about Sakura, but pink—no matter what shade—always brought her to the forefront of his thoughts.

Thinking back to their fight a week ago, Sasuke could say without a doubt that it was over between them.

She chose her husband and he didn't have it in him to reach out to her again. Not when he knew what the feeling of her rejection felt like.

It was time to move on. To let go.

Time to listen to his blond nagging teammate for once. He honestly didn't know why he hadn't already.

Naruto was right about revenge not being the answer. He was right about Sakura moving on if he didn't do anything to stop it. Right about her not choosing him. So if he was saying it'd be better to forget what happened and move on, then he should trust him.

After all, even though he was a stupid, moronic, loud-mouth loser, Naruto Uzumaki was always right.

Time to move on from her... and from the ridiculous stack of work sitting in front of him.

Calling it quits, Sasuke stood up from his seat and gathered all the papers together. If Yumi wanted them done so badly, she could do them herself.

He grabbed the three other papers sitting abandoned on the corner, then he headed to his captain's office, ready to hand them over.

He didn't want to do his own work, he definitely wasn't doing his.

The moment he got there, he noticed the door's small window frame was covered with a familiar piece of cloth. He'd noticed it hanging on the back of the door a few times ever since he first started working for Kai, but it was the first time he'd seen it actually being used to block the view inside.

Sasuke frowned and then reached for the door handle only to find it locked. For a moment, he wondered if there was a meeting going on without him. Maybe because of his recent half-assed assignments or his intoxication while on the job.

He didn't care. Whatever needed to be said could be said to his face.

Just when he was about to jiggle the door handle to let them know he was out there, he froze with his hand suddenly tightening against the metal rod.
