A nice warm meal while binge watching her favorite show under cozy covers was exactly what the pinkette had been looking forward to. The simple fantasy made her smile peacefully. She deserved something like that considering all she'd been going through.

A simple lazy day with no interruptions.

"What the heck are you smiling for?"

Sakura snapped her eyes opened and was met with her blond frustrating teammate hovering inches away from her face.

There goes her daydream.

"Why are you here?" she frowned.

"I wanted to make sure everything goes okay," Naruto straightened up and took a seat on the hospital bed she laid in.

Yes, instead of being home, she was once again lying in a hospital bed.

Sakura had let Tsunade know Kai messed with her head by using his own developed hypnosis in order for her to run the right tests and make sure everything was okay. They didn't want her to have any traces of it still lingering.

"What's this?" Naruto pulled one of the tube connected into her hand.

"It numbed me up and relaxed my brain for Lady Tsunade to check if I'm good. It's already starting to fade."

"So you're on drugs?" Naruto cocked an eyebrow. "That's why you were smiling to yourself?"

Sakura frowned again. She was smiling because she was thinking of a relaxing day...and maybe a little because of the drugs, which she was starting to feel again now that her teammate mentioned it.

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine. The headaches are gone and—"

"That's not what I meant," Naruto looked at her with concern.

She knew he was referring to her divorce.

"I'm...good, actually."

And she was. More than she thought she'd be. She should've divorced Kai long ago and she probably would've if he hadn't changed that.

"I know things were hard for you two, but either way, you loved Kai. I'm sure you wouldn't have been with him for so long if you hadn't."

His words told her he thought she was lying, putting on a brave face. It made her want to explain things. She wasn't sure if it was the drugs or the fact that Naruto had always been someone she trusted with everything she had, but she wanted him to know exactly what had gone down.

Sakura told him about his hypnosis, how he used it to win all his bets and get into his enemies heads, how he used it on her to get her to stay. She told him about the episodes he would have, his lashing out. Told him Kai was obsessed and sick, and also that she felt bad for him. He needed help.

"So the entire thing was a lie?"

Sakura shook her head. "No, he won me over himself, but he wasn't able to keep me. That's why he ended up doing it."

If the Kai that she knew before the hypnosis, before the cheating, the one who won her over was actually the real Kai, then a piece of her would always hold that good part of him in her heart. His obsession ruined things, but it was the love he held so tightly in his heart that made it begin.

Naruto looked away from her, trying to process everything. She didn't doubt him blaming himself even though it had nothing to do with him. He'd always been that way. And by the way he clenched his fist, she knew he was angry at what Kai had done.

"Woah," Sakura suddenly giggled, catching his attention again. "I can still feel it a little."

Naruto smiled at her wiggling her fingers in front of her face.
