"I don't know, baby." Kiel said while standing at the doorway, of course Vi in his arms.
I should be bothered because I have a strong tell that our little angel girl will be spoiled rotten, but who am I to stop it? Feeling ko he's making up for the lost months na sana kahit hindi na dapat.
"What do you mean you don't know?" I asked while I unpack the second box for Vi's baby room.
Yes, that's right. Vi's baby room. The past three weeks went by in a flash. And if you know someone like Kier Ignacio Loyzaga, flash is an understatement since he's not known for taking things slow.
The day after his family met Vi, he took an indefinite leave from their company. He wanted to spend some more time with Vi and I, which is what we did. He's been showering us both with everything any girl could dream of. Hell, he even bought Vi a Prada bag. Akala ko nga magagalit ang mommy niya dahil kilala siya sa pagiging matipid, pero wala, iba ang dating ni Vi. Kung nakakapag-salita na ata ang anak namin, kahit anong hingin mukhang ibibigay nila.
In those three weeks, he started his plan of secretly moving me and Vi houses. Our set-up is that he comes in the morning to pick us up and then we plan our day. Most days we lounge at his condominium, the same one where we begun making plans of having a kid. In between those days, 'di ko alam kung sinong kakontsaba niya sa bahay dahil unti-unting nagsisisulputan ang mga gamit namin ni Vi sa condo niya.
Until his condo, became ours.
And here we are, three weeks later.
With me unpacking and rearranging our unit, while he's standing by the door carrying our child telling me he doesn't know.
"Ano ang hindi mo alam?" Muling tanong ko habang inaayos ang mga damit ni Vi sa bagong child cabinet na kakabili ni Kiel.
"Our place looks small. I think we should buy a house." He nonchalantly said. Then he started cooing at Vi which our daughter returned with a giggle. "She even my girl gets it. We should buy a house, babe."
"Mukha lang maliit 'tong unit kasi nakahambalang pa 'yong mga boxes ng iba kong gamit sa sala at sa master's. After kong mag-ayos, giginhawa rin paningin natin kasi magkaka-space na."
"But a condo is not a nice place to raise a child." He countered.
I shook my head with a smile, "Kiel, umamin ka na. Did you buy a house already tapos kunwari wala pa?"
He grinned at me impishly, "Not quite. But....." He then sat in front of me and let Vi crawl around her room, grabbing her toys here and there.
"But?" I echoed.
He took both my hands in his, "I asked Era to make a model house for us, the file is in my Mac. If you wanna see it, I'll be glad to let you take a look. If not, I'm also okay to settle here and wait until you're ready to move."
"Again." I continued.
"Yes po, move again." He muttered with a short laugh.
Vi made cute little baby noises making him momentarily lose focus of me. I looked around the baby room I once started designing, which he finished within the months we're not together. Wala naman akong sentimental connection dito sa lugar, and to be honest, I'm okay anywhere as long as I'm with the two people I love more than my life.
I breathed in hard and nodded, "Okay, let me see it."
That boyish beam that flashed in front of me gave me all the right feelings. Kiel gives me all the right feelings.
