Rachel sat in the waiting room curled up in her hair sobbing thankfully a nurse had brought her some water and a blanket and was keeping a close eye on her til her fathers arrived. Everything that had just occurred in her living room was playing over and over again in her head and it only made her cry that much harder. She had always believed Russel was beating Lucy but now she'd seen it with her own eyes....she'd heard his grunting as her r*ped her friend...she'd heard all of Lucy's cries,whimpers,and screams for her bastard of a father to stop...she'd remembered realizing Lucy wasn't making anymore noise...she remembered seeing her body laying there on the floor...it made her feel sick all over again.

Rachel wasn't sure how long she'd been sitting there to her it felt like hours all she knew was that she wanted to be with Lucy and she couldn't it wasn't until she felt someone's arms wrapping around her that she looked up to find her daddy " Daddy..he-..he..." She tried to tell him but she couldn't she couldn't even bring herself to say it after she'd said it to the operator " It's okay sweetheart we know it's okay.." LeRory told her as he rubbed her back Hiram was still down at the police station. LeRory hated that his daughter had to witness this happened to the young blonde but he also hates that Lucy had to experience this at all she hadn't deserved this at all and the more he heard his own daughters sons the more his heart broke " S-she was screaming so much daddy...she asked him to s-stop so many times..." She whimpered into his chest that was now soaked with her tears. LeRory wanted to tell his daughter everything would be okay but that just simply wasn't true they'd thought Lucy would be safe in their own despite her problems with Hiram and now that just wasn't a guarantee anymore bc this had all taken place in their home.

LeRory and Rachel sat together in the waiting room anxiously waiting for someone to come give them information on Lucy. All the crying had worn Rachel out and she was sleepy but she didn't wanna fall asleep not until she could see her friend " Mr.Berry ? " The Nurse said and both Rachel and LeRory heads snapped in her direction " Quinn is awake now all tests are done just waiting on results she did need stitches for the cut under her eye it was a rather deep cut...she's really jumpy so be careful she's right down the hall you won't miss her " The Nurse told them and Rachel bolted out of her seat and down the hallway LeRory hadn't ever seen his daughter move so fast " Luce ?! " Rachel said as she entered the blondes room and immediately wrapped her in a hug when she was beside her "
I'm so sorry...I'm so sorry Lucy " Rachel said tears forming in her eyes as she hugged the blonde " It's okay Rae..." Lucy told her quietly as Rachel looked at her it was then that she noticed the large handprint on her neck that was forming into a bruise " Your neck..." She said softly running her fingers along the incoming bruise but stopped when Lucy flinched " He tried to strangle me...again...." Lucy told her she could tell speaking was hurting her " Tried to kill me...he figured that bc I have Asthma it'd be what it was like last time and I'd be out for days..."  Lucy told her. It made Rachel's heart ache hearing the obvious pain in the girls voice she need to lighten the mood..." Do you remember when we first met Luce ?..." Rachel asked her and when Lucy nodded Rachel couldn't stop herself from telling the story

Flashback : Freshman Year
Quinn took a deep breath as she walked into McKinley High trying to remember everything her father had told her the previous morning be polite, only befriend the popular crowd, be rude to whoever deserved it, don't eat at lunch just pick at her food, and most importantly don't befriend Rachel Berry bc she had two dads and that was a sin and not normal and lastly introduce herself as Quinn not Lucy. Quinn was so focused on trying to remember what her father told her that she wasn't paying any attention to where she was going and walked into someone high of them falling to the floor along with their things quickly " I am so sorry ! I wasn't paying attention to where I was going " Quinn said as she scrambled to pick up all the things she knocked from the other person's hand " Oh that's alright I wasn't paying a attention either " The small brunette said and that's when the two actually saw each other.

Rachel was stunned she'd bumped into a cheerio but she hadn't ever seen this girl before " What's your name ? " Rachel asked her curiously she looked so familiar to her " Oh I'm L- Quinn..Quinn Fabray " Quinn said with a smile " Well nice to meet you Quinn Fabray I'm Rachel Berry " Rachel told her and Quinn gasped this was the girl her father was talking abt but she looked completely normal to Quinn in fact she looked familiar " Hey I know you ! I've seen you at the Library and book store over the summer " Quinn said enthusiastically and Rachel laughed a little and realized that's where she'd seen the blonde she looked more polished than she did when she'd seen her out in public without her parents. Whenever Rachel saw her she'd be dressed in rather a dress or jeans slumped in her seat sitting Indian style face stuffed into a book and her hair in a messy bun that she definitely threw up once she'd made it to the library. She'd noticed that the blonde never alarmed as girly as she usually dressed she sat rather boyish actually. " Yea I've seen you there to Quinn how abt I show you around the school and help you to class ? " Rachel asked her with a smile " Yea that would be great " Quinn told her and the two girls walked around the entire school Rachel showing her every single thing Quinn wouldn't tell anyone out loud but she thought Rachel was absolutely beautiful her hair, her big brown eyes her lips...Quinn held onto every word Rachel said she'd known for a a few months now that she was attracted to women and her older sister was the only one that knew abt it bc their parents were homophobic and had disowned Frannie when she came out. Eventually the girls made it to Quinn's first period which just so happened to be Rachel's as well the two walked in and sat together until they were interrupted " Hello manhands " Santana said with a smirk and Quinn Frowned that wasn't her name " Um...h-her name is Rachel.." Quinn said quietly and honestly hoped the Latina hadn't heard her " Who are you and why are in a cheerios uniform sitting with Rupual ? " Santana asked the blonde and Quinn didn't know what to say " M-my name is Quinn...Quinn Fabray " She said and it was like Santana had an idea she'd heard all abt the Fabray's over the summer " Oh your the new incredibly rich family that just moved here " Santana said and Quinn nodded " Well Quinn you are far to cool to be sitting with the munchkin so come sit with me and my friend Brittany " Santana said with a smile " No that's okay I'm gonna sit with Rachel " Quinn told her politely "'That wasn't a question Quinn your going to sit with me and Brittany yr a Cheerio far to cool to be sitting with Berry now come on " Santana said " Um...okay..I'm sorry Rachel.." Quinn told her sadly as she gathered her things " It's okay Quinn no need to apologize see you later " Rachel told her trying not to show that she was sad abt having to lose her only friend. She watched as Quinn moved to the back with Santana and Brittany she noticed that Quinn seemed nervous with the two but seemed perfectly fine with her.

As the school day dragged on Rachel didn't see Quinn again until the end of the day at their lockers " Hey Rachel " Quinn said with a smile " Hi Quinn how was your first day ? " Rachel asked her happy to see the blonde " It was okay would've been better had I been able to stay with you as opposed to being forced to hang out with Santana and Brittany " Quinn told her with a frown " Who knows maybe the three of you will become to be great friends " Rachel told her and Quinn shrugged " I wanted to tell you something " Quinn said looking at her and something told Rachel it was serious so she looked at her " Santana wants me to make fun of you...so if I say something please don't take it personally I promise I don't mean it " Quinn told her and Rachel nodded she could tell the blonde meant what she said she watched as Quinn checked the time on her watch " I have to go to cheerios practice but I'll see you around Rachel have a great rest of your day " Quinn told her before running down the hallway. Rachel smiled as she watched the blonde leave.

End of Flashback

Lucy smiled remembering how quickly the two had become friends in the beginning " I'll never forget the day we met Rach....it was one of the best days of my life.." Lucy told her with a small tired smile. Rachel noticed how droopy her eyes were " Get some sleep Luce..." Rachel told her gently pushing her blonde locks away from her face " Only if you sleep with me..." Lucy told her Rachel didn't even argue and laid down right beside the blonde " Now get some sleep.." Rachel told her through her yawn. Lucy fell asleep with ease with Rachel beside her.

LeRory quietly walked into the hospital room to find both girls asleep on the bed and he smiled softly carefully he covered Rachel in his jacket and kissed both girls on the head. He'd been waiting for Hiram and Frannie to get to the hospital but Frannie was stuck at work and couldn't get out and Hiram was still down at the station he knew this was gonna make the local news and that this would be hard on both of the young teenagers. LeRory placed himself in a chair in Lucy's room and began reading a magazine while the two girls slept as h hoped they'd be okay he knew one was for sure and that was that both girls had each other.
