Lucy smiled as she walked down the hallway with Beth on her hip and Santana beside her as well as Mercedes as they discussed anything and everything "San did your college acceptance letter come yet ?" she asked looking over at her best friend "Uh...yeah actually it did I just haven't opened it yet" Santana said the nervousness obvious to the two beside her "Why ?Where'd you apply to ?" Mercedes asked looking towards the girl "I applied to Columbia and Yale's law schools" the latina said "And you got both letters back ?" the diva asked "Yeah I've been carrying them around just haven't opened them" Santana told them with a small shrug "You have to open them at some point San graduation is near" Lucy told her "Yes I know and I will when I'm ready anyway shouldn't you be with your girlfriend she's like freaking out about her NYADA audition today" Santana said looking over at the girl "She said she isn't talking to save her voice for her audition I believe she's in the library claiming she'll read while she's in there" Lucy said with a shrug "Read ? Rachel hates reading books she'd rather hear you tell her what the book is about" Mercedes said looking at the red head "Oh you should see it Mercedes Q will stop reading her own book in the snap of a finger if Rachel asked her a question about anything" the raven haired girl said making the girl blush "She's got you wrapped around her finger Quinn" the diva said.

Lucy looked away from the two trying to stop herself from blushing. "I do not do that !" she said distracting herself with Beth's hair "Babyyyyy....I need you" Rachel whined walking up to the four with a deep frown "What's the matter ? You look sad. Are you sick ? Should we go home ?" The red head asked her hazel eyes filled with worry and concern "No I'm-...I'm scared what-...what if I mess up my solo and j don't get in ! I know-...I know I've been singing 'Don't Rain On My Parade' my entire life but what if I screw up and forget the words ?! What if I throw up on stage ?! What-..what if-...mmph" the brunette was quickly cut off by a pair of soft lips "Rach calm down I'm sure you'll be amazing and if you're that scared then pick another song I've seen you baby...and you're extraordinary" Lucy told her looking into her chocolate brown eyes "No matter what that judge says you tried you're absolute best and that's all that matters" she continued before placing a gentle kiss on the girl's warm forehead.

Rachel sighed as she took in her girlfriend's encouraging words "You always know just what to say..." she mumbled "I try now how about you go to the choir room or any quiet room for the matter and just relax listen to your music...I left a surprise on your phone for you this morning" Lucy said brushing the long dark brown hair out of her girlfriends face. "Okay I'll go do that I'll see you later" Rachel said kissing the girl on the cheek and giving Beth a little kiss as well when the little girl whined before walking away. "Damn...that was fuckin cute as hell Q" Santana said blinking away the visible tears in her eyes making the red head laugh as they continued down the hallway.

Lucy clapped with a bright smile on her face as Kurt walked off stage he'd been amazing in his rendition of 'Not The Boy Next Door' she'd seen him rehearsing it a few times even helped him with the choreography a little bit. "Rachel Berry" she heard the woman say. Nervously Lucy bit het lip as she watched her girlfriend walk on stage smoothing out the black dress she'd chosen specifically for this she could see the nervousness on the girls face and she wanted to go up and tell het to take a minute then come back but she knew that she couldn't do that the brunette would have to just let the nerves go and preform the song she'd been rehearsing for days well at least that's what she thought the girl was going to preform.

"Hello my name is Rachel Berry and I'll be singing...I-..." Rachel started her eyes wandering the small audience of her friends before they finally landed on her girlfriend's beautiful hazel eyes "My name is Rachel Berry and I'll be singing 'My Man' except I've put my own twist on the song" the brunette said keeping her eyes on her girlfriend as she waited for the music to start.

Rachel took a deep breath as she finished singing fresh tears strolling down her rosy cheeks "You know Barbra won many awards for her work in Funny Girl" Carmen told her looking at the petite girl on stage "Yes I'm aware" the brunette said wiping away her tears "Tell me what made you change the words from man to woman" Carmel asked lacing her fingers together giving the young girl her undivided attention "My girlfriend is the reason I changed the words. She means the world to me and I like to have a connection to the songs I sing otherwise I don't feel much when I'm singing them. I always sing at my best when I have a deep connection with the songs with the lyrics....Lucy-...Lucy is my girlfriend and she sings and plays with so much emotion prior to having any sort of relationship with her I thought I knew all there was to know when it came to music but I realized I didn't she showed me what's it's like to have that kind of connection with music of all kinds....and because of her I changed me song and the words in a matter of seconds...Lucy is the reason I changed the words to the already amazing song" Rachel finished noticing the tears going down her girlfriends face "Thank You Ms.Berry you'll hear back from us soon" Carmen said as she watched the girl curtsy and leave the stage.

Lucy handed Beth off to Santana before going backstage immediately wrapping the shorter girl in a hug "That was beautiful babe" she mumbled into the girls hair as tears kept streaming down her face "I couldn't have done it without you baby..." Rachel said her arms wrapped tightly around the slender waist "And...I loved the playlist you made me...it's a wonderful gift" the brunette said looking up at her girlfriend "I'm glad you liked it Rach" Lucy said kissing the girl on her pink plump lips "I love you so very much Lucy Q and I couldn't have pulled that off so easily without you" Rachel said before kissing the girl back. Her audition had gone much better than she expected and now all she had to do was wait and hope that when her letter came in the mail it said they accepted her otherwise she wasn't sure what she was gonna do. "If I don't get in then you'll have to smuggle me in your dorm and hide me there" the brunette said and they walked from backstage. Lucy laughed at the suggestion "Yeah sure Rach whatever you want"
