It'd been just a little over 5 months since they'd all graduated and began leaving for college.  Rachel had been the first to leave Lima after spending the summer with her family she packed up and headed to New York. At first everything had been well she talked with her fathers, Lucy, Santana, and Shelby everyday but as time seemed to pass she seemed to speak to her girlfriend less and less which she wouldn't lie made her a bit upset.

Lucy had seemed to always be busy when she called or she was always having to end their skype calls early because she'd be busy but everyone close to her girlfriend all kept reassuring her that Lucy was fine and that she was just busy with school. So Rachel listened and tried her best not to get to upset and instead shifted all of her focus onto her classes.

Though she was worried about her girlfriend she was excited because her mother was in town and they were gonna have dinner at her apartment, she couldn't have been more excited to spend more time with her mother and talk and laugh with her like she'd done over the summer. She knew they'd have a good time she hoped she would get to see Beth as well when she saw her mother and maybe she could convince the two to stay a little longer.

Lucy and Santana had a strict routine. Lucy was up at 5 am she would go for a run return home and shower before making herself breakfast and coffee. Once she'd eaten and cleaned up behind herself she grabbed what she needed gave Beth a goodbye kiss as the little girl slept and went to her classes. After she'd return from her classes Santana would go to her classes while she stayed with Beth playing and reading to the small girl and giving her lunch before putting her down her nap just as Santana would return from class and she'd leave and go to work while Santana stayed with Beth.

Then Lucy would return home and make dinner with Santana while Beth watched a little tv. Once they ate their dinner one of the two would give Beth a bath and they'd settle down and watch whatever movie Beth picked that night. When they'd notice she was falling asleep they'd put the small girl to bed giving her kisses and goodnights before leaving the room. Then, Santana would leave for work and Lucy would clean up the apartment before taking a shower and sitting at her desk to complete any homework, projects, or essay's and by the time she was finished Santana would be home from work take a shower and the two would go to bed then repeat it all the next day.

Right now Lucy was at work and Santana and Beth were sat at the table together the now 2 year old was drawing and Santana was working on her homework while music played in the background "Auntie Tana ?" Beth said looking up at the woman she loved dearly "Yes little B ?" she asked looking at the little girl "Snack ?" the small hazel eyed girl asked "Yeah sure what are you in the mood for ?" Santana asked pushing her books and papers away "Uh...gwilled cheese !" Beth said smiling up at her aunt "Alright and what's your fruit of choice today B ?" the latina asked "bapples !" the small girl said "Apples it is and drink ?" she asked "milk" Beth said

Santana nodded and got up leaving the table and walking into the kitchen to prepare a snack for herself and Beth, pulling her phone from her pocket when she heard it ringing answering without looking " Hello ?" she said "Santana ? Hey" the voice from the other line said "Shelby ? Hey how are you ? How are you feeling ?" she asked as she transferred the grilled cheeses to their plates "I'm okay...I've got some pain still and they upped my meds but I'm still moving" Shelby told her but Santana knew better she could hear the weakness in the woman's voice "How's Beth is she okay ?" the older woman asked "Yeah she's doing good I'm making her snack right now and she's drawing we do think she may be coming down with a cold though" Santana told her

"And how are you and Quinn ?" Shelby asked "We're doing good we're both passing our classes our jobs are paying well so everything's good" she said as she cut up the apple "That's good...I've already told Quinn and LeRory and I thought you should know I'm telling Rachel tonight...about me being sick...the stuff with Beth all of it" Shelby told her making Santana stop and glance at her phone "How do you think she'll take it ?" she asked as she put the apple slices to her plate as well as Beth's. "Hopefully she'll take it well but I'm not even sure honestly you never know how Rachel will react" the older woman said "Yeah.." Santana asked.
