Lucy let out a quiet breath as she sat in the choir room. She'd just finished watching Santana preform as Rizzo and now she was waiting for the the show to end which she had a while until it was over and now her thoughts were invading her mind. Her mind was racing with memories and she knew eventually Santana would push her to talk about the nightmare and breakdown she'd had just three days ago but she didn't wanna talk about it.
Why would she ?
No one wanted to discuss a nightmare about the first time their father raped them...no one wanted to remember that pain or talk about it...she didn't-...she didn't wanna think about it. The situation was to much on its own let alone the fact that Rachel was in town or that Frannie had once again questioned her parenting.
"I'm sorry I didn't know there was someone in here" a voice said as they entered the room.
Lucy turned her head slowly instantly recognizing the voice of what used to be her girlfriend.
"Rachel..." she said looking at the girl.
"Quinn ? I mean Lucy sorry I didn't know that was you" Rachel said moving to leave the room
"You don't have to go if you don't want to..." she said softly.
Rachel looked at the red head taking in her look the same way she had done at the start of junior year. Strangely enough she looked the same way she did that day except she was no longer blonde. The girl looked tired like she hasn't slept in days, she had fear swirling in her hazel eyes and somehow the brunette knew the fear wasn't because of her it was something else almost like she'd run into someone or had a terrible memory.
Just like she did in their junior year Lucy was sat in the far back of the choir room in leggings and a sweatshirt except this time it was cold out she wasn't trying to hide any bruises but still something told Rachel the girl was still hiding something beneath the sweatshirt but she couldn't pinpoint what it was.
"How are you Lucy ?" she asked pulling her eyes away from the grey Yale sweatshirt.
"I'm okay....just ya know focusing on classes...and work...and baby" Lucy said softly and slowly.
"Daddy says you're at the top of your class" Rachel said attempting to get the girl to relax.
"Yeah I guess all my all-nighters are paying off" the red head said.
Rachel couldn't stop her eyes from widening, Lucy didn't need to be pulling all-nighters and Santana shouldn't be allowing her to do so either.
"You're naturally smart Lucy you don't need to pull all-nighters to get good grades" Rachel told her.
Lucy looked at the girl, looking into her chocolate brown eyes searching to see of the girl was possibly lying or just saying that to create some sort of conversation with her but she only found genuine eyes looking back at her so she gave the girl a small smile hoping she wouldn't notice it was a fake one.
Rachel recognized the fake smile instantly but choose not to comment on it because she could see clear as day that the girl was unwell mentally like she was sitting there looking at her and talking to her bur her mind was in a different place and you could tell that by the distant look in her eyes.
Funnily enough both girls were a little grateful that neither Beth or Santana were there because Santana wouldn't have allowed Rachel to speak and Beth would've started crying as soon as she saw the brunette who she once loved.
"I-...um...how much longer are you guys in town ?" Rachel asked breaking the silence.
"Beth and I are just here for two more days but Santana is staying so she can play Rizzo in the rest of the shows why ?" Lucy replied as she fidgeted with her sleeves.
