"Lucy..."

Chocolate brown eyes met hazel for the first time in what felt like years, Rachel didn't know how much Quinn remembered but based on the small weak smile she gets she knows she doesn't remember their break up.

"You know you may be the only person I let call me Lucy after everything that happened today..." Quinn said weakly.

"Today ?..."

"Ya know...Santana,Finn,Puck, and Brittany all ganging up on me...pushing me from one set of arms to the other...pushing me into the lockers.."

Rachel's breath got caught in her throat, that'd happened so long ago so many more things had happened since that incident...so many people had come and gone...and Quinn didn't remember any of it.

"Yeah...um I stood up for you against them...a-after you passed out..."

"Did they get suspended ?"

"No...they just had detention"

"I suppose I deserved it..." Quinn mumbled quietly

Rachel couldn't help but frown looking back the once blonde said things like this often long before they ever became friends but she'd never really paid it any mind, but now knowing why she said the things she said Rachel can't help but feel a pang in her heart.

"Are my parents here ?..."

"No...oh that reminds me I need to call Frannie" she said reaching for her phone.

"Why would you be calling Frannie ?" Quinn asked her, something in her voice that Rachel couldn't register it almost sounded like she didn't want  the girl there and if this was true then that meant Quinn was a damn actress. She gave the girl a tight lipped smile and pulled out her phone shooting Santana a quick text before putting it away.

"Why do you even have Frannie's number"

"I-..we ran into each other at the store a few weeks ago and have just been talking I was trying to get her to tutor me"

"Tutor you ? Rachel you have all A's and B's"

The brunette froze unsure of what to say she'd forgotten that to Quinn she hadn't ever met her big sister in person she'd only heard about her and seen pictures of her.

"I know but my math grade is slipping and I just can't have that...those equations with fractions are really kicking my butt" she lied

Quinn nodded her head slowly and looked the girl over, she looked different than she remembered she looked a little taller, her clothing was different, she had bangs again, her eyes didn't seem to have that same sparkle they held the last time they'd seen each other the  previous day. She was a bit tense and her eyes seemed to ne filled with sadness and happiness and so many more emotions that she couldn't put her finger on.

"Why do you look so different ?.." she asked her

Rachel opened her mouth to respond but quickly shut it, she didn't have an answer she wasn't sure if Quinn was supposed to know that she'd lost her memory and that it'd already been so many years since that fateful day in the hallway's of McKinley High. Thankfully Quinn's doctor walked in before she got the chance to say anything.

Rachel smiled softly at the doctor as he walked in the room. She listened briefly as he began talking to Lucy before eventually zoning out and getting lost in her thoughts. She checked her phone to see two messages from Santana, one telling her she'd managed to find a last minute flight to Lima claiming it'd be faster than driving from New Haven. The second text was sent 5 minutes ago letting her know that she was boarding her flight and she'd be here soon, Rachel sighed she hadn't had time to tell Santana what was going on and that Lucy didn't have positive memories of her and most likely didn't wanna be near her. She shook her head to clear her thoughts as she sent out a text to her daddy to let him know what was going on and not to mention it to Beth.

She was pulled from her thoughts at the sound of the door clicking shut, silently she turned to Quinn and smiled softly when she saw the girl watching her an question clearly on the tip of her tongue. 

"How come you aren't at school Rae ?" 

Rachel's breath hitched at the nickname, Lucy hadn't called her Rae in what felt like years hearing the name now brought up old memories of the two goofing off in class and racing through the halls together. 

"Um...well...gee this is gonna be hard.." she mumbled more to herself than to Lucy. 

"Okay um Lucy we-...I'm not at school because...because I was to worried about you to focus so I stayed here instead" 

"Oh" she said as she let out a jaw breaking yawn. 

"Why don't you take a nap" Rachel suggested, thankful that Lucy agreed and got comfortable before eventually falling asleep. She sighed wondering how long she'd have to keep lying and if she'd be able to get ahold of Santana before she made it to the hospital, Lucy was bound to freak out when she saw Santana because in her mind Santana had been one of the people that had been apart of the reason she was in the hospital to begin with.  

The brunette shook her head and sat down in the chair near Lucy's bed and began making calls to her clients to cancel their practices for the week.

2 hours went by in what to Rachel felt like an eternity, she'd managed to distract Lucy with the TV while she sat on her phone on her probably 50th round of 'Candy Crush' .  The sound of the door opening seemed to pull both girls attention as they looked, Rachel knew who it was as soon as she saw that long silky black hair, her eyes nearly popped out of her head as she sprang up from her seat to stop the tan girl from coming all the way in but she was to late and to clumsy because as soon as she tripped and hit the floor Santana walked fully into the room and all hell broke loose. 

"Hey Qu-.." 

"No ! Rachel w-what is she doing here ! I haven't done anything to you leave me alone Santana !" Lucy screeched. 

Santana looked at her then at Rachel in shock, she extended a helping hand to Rachel to help her off the floor and was thankful the smaller girl began to explain as she grabbed her hand. 

"I was gonna call you...she doesn't remember San...she thinks this is that day you Britt,Puck, and Finn pushed her into the lockers.." she explained. 

Santana felt sick, she felt like the floor was opening and she was about to be in the firey pits of hell. "What ?...that was like 2 years ago..." 

"I know...her doctor came to me while she was taking a nap and said it was okay to tell her the truth" 

Both girls turned and looked at the clearly upset and confused girl in the hospital bed and sighed, they knew this was gonna be hard and result in a lot of tears. 

"Lucy...honey..." Rachel started . 

"You were in a car accident...." Santana continued.
