Chapter 38: Showdown at Dark City!

Takes place in Episode 39 of the anime.

"Dark City, huh?" Aoi says as Ash, Misty, and Brock looked around in astonishment.

"This place gives me bad vibes. Despite it being in the middle of the day nobody is out and about." Brock comments, as,

"Get back inside!" Says a woman, as a small kid was a bit mad,

"Come on, nobody is out here!" He cried,

"I don't care! What if Pokemon Trainers are here!?!" She lectured, dragging her child in her home,

"Why would she be afraid of Pokemon Trainers?" Misty was confused, as Aoi says,

"If she's so afraid of them, why live in a world of Pokemon?" Aoi wondered, as suddenly,

"Pika!" Pikachu jumps in horror, as rocks are thrown their way.

"HEY!" Ash yells out, as the rocks suddenly stopped being thrown,

"Oh, Pikachu..." Aoi helps him up, as he jumps and hides in Ash's bag,

"Pikachu..." Ash is a bit disheartened,

"WHOEVER YOU ARE, YOU BETTER GET DOWN HERE THIS INSTANT!" Aoi shouts as Brock says,

"Aoi! Quiet down, you'll only startle-!" Brock says, as suddenly, three small kids are crashing down, landing in a pile of hay, as everyone was shocked at this point.

"They're Pokemon Trainers!" The blue haired boy says, as the four introduced themselves, with great annoyance at the kids.

However...

"!?!" The four are hit with a stick,

"Hey! What was that about!?!" Ash demanded, but the blue boy says,

"We don't care who you are, if you work with Pokemon you better get out of our town-!" He says, as Aoi grabs the stick, pulling it away,

"Huh!?! Give that back!" He demanded, but Aoi says,

"Who gives you the right to just hit people!?! We barely even know you, brats!" Aoi says, as Brock sighs, knowing full well Aoi takes things to the extreme, even if this is supposed to be a kid's themed fanfiction.

"Boys! Stop this nonsense, this instant!" Says an older man, as the three boys groan, as the man walks up apologizing, before inviting them to his restaurant to explain everything.

"..." Everyone was quiet, the boys eating an omelet as the man explained,

"This city has two Pokemon Gyms. The Yas Gym and the Kaz Gym." He says as he continues,

"These gyms are in the middle of a gang war and hire any wondering Pokemon Trainers as soldiers to fight for them." He explained as Brock wondered why, as the man then states that whoever wins will become an official Pokemon Gym. This was obviously stupid due to the fact you need special permission to become one, not to fight amongst others with Pokemon to settle a personal dispute.

It was then these two gyms go at it again, the man suggesting the groups head up to the second floor.

There, everyone witnessed the trouble, harm, and things these two gyms do.

The Yas Gym has Pokemon fight the Kaz Gym and vice versa.

Misty commented on it being a street fight,

Brock was dishearted by the destruction they were causing,

And Aoi gains some emotions realizing that a Scyther was being used to fight.

He didn't think his own' Scyther's potential children were being used for this.

But when they weren't looking, Aoi steps out,
