Part 28

A/N- Hey guys! I am SO sorry it's been over a week since my last update. I was in and out of the hospital not feeling so great with a bad sinus infection. Thank you so much for your patience, and now I will be back updating!

"Mom. Mom! Stop yelling." Hallie said, and she put her phone on speaker. "What is going on?"

"Hallie Marie Anderson I have never been so disgusted in my entire life." her mom's voice came through, like venom. "You've been posting porn and naked photos on the internet for the entire world to see? You are disgusting. What do you have to say for yourself?"

Fuck.

Hallie turned white as a ghost. All she said was, "How do you know?"

"Your father received an email from an anonymous person." Courtney said, sounding furious. "He's so disgusted he doesn't even want to speak to you. At all. You and your girlfriend are an absolute disgrace."

I felt my stomach drop.

"Leave Alina out of this." Hallie said, "Don't mention her."

"Don't mention her? She's part of this! She was in the images!" Courtney said, "You two are vile. I am ashamed to call you my daughter, Hallie."

I had heard those words from my parents before. But by the way Hallie's eyes welled up with tears- I knew she hadn't before. I knew her parents hadn't been nice to her in the past. But I could tell these words hit differently.

Hallie didn't say anything back to her mom. She sat there holding the phone with one hand- and I held her other hand.

"Where are you right now?" her mom asked.

"Alina's." Hallie said, her voice shaking.

"Of course. All you care about is that girl. Obviously not yourself. Or your future. And don't even get me started on Alina's future! She graduated college- and for what? To become a porn star." Courtney barked a laugh.

"Like I said- leave her out of this conversation." Hallie said back.

Courtney's words hardly got to me. She could say what's he wanted. She was a lousy parent. I was used to those.

"This conversation is over." Courtney said, "Here's what is going to happen. You're going to come home, pack a bag, and leave. You are no longer welcome to stay in my house. You're on your own now. You made that choice when you started showing yourself online."

"You're kicking me out?" Hallie asked. I then saw a few tears roll down her cheeks.

"I don't want you in my house. You're on your own, Hallie. You're out by tonight." Courtney said, and then she hung up.

Hallie put her phone down on my bed and immediately broke down. I pulled her into my arms and her shoulders shook as she cried.

"You're obviously going to stay here." I said to her, "We will figure this out. I am going to call Officer Rodriguez and tell her that another email was sent to your father."

"Thank you for letting me stay here." Hallie said, through tears.

"What, do you think I'm going to have you out on the streets? Of course you're staying here." I said, "I'm sorry, Hallie. I'm sorry that whoever is out to get me is after you now. I can't even describe how terrible I feel."

"It's not your fault." Hallie said softly.

When we pulled away she got up and said, "I'm going to go back to my parents and pack my things up."

"I can come with you." I said.

"I don't want you to face their wrath, Alina." Hallie said, "Not even for a second. I'm going to try to avoid them. Pack my things, and then come back."
