Snow Capped Hearts- A My Hero Academia Fanfiction (Iida x OC)

First Day of School

My phone blares my alarm right in my ear. I practically jump out of my skin. Why did I set it to be so loud? I press the snooze button as fast as I can.

This is it. My first day at UA High. Anxiety settles into my chest, but I pull myself out of bed and find the uniform we bought so long ago. The skirt feels a little too short for my liking (at least for school), so I add some shorts underneath to give myself a layer of protection. Additionally, I opt for some long black socks to cover as much of my legs as possible.

Brushing out my hair, I try to prepare myself for the day ahead. It still feels so unreal to me that I got into UA.

Breakfast is just a granola bar and a water bottle. I'm too nervous to eat anything else. It occurs to me that I might not know anyone in my class. Not that I ever really knew anyone in my middle school anyways. Still, it's nerve-wracking.

The train ride is spent mostly trying to keep myself from throwing up. God, I hope today goes well for me. The only comfort I can give myself right now is reminding myself that I deserve to be at UA. I was in the top five examinees for the written exam and I pass the practical. They wanted me here.

I stop short at the gate. I see the multitude of students dressed like me and let myself believe that I'm one of them. Gripping my bag tighter, I cross the threshold, entering the building I get to study at for the next three years.

The first thing that hits me when I find my classroom is how tall the door is. It must be incredibly heavy. I grab the handle, fully preparing for the Herculean effort of moving it, but it slides with ease.

"A new classmate! Hello!" I hear a familiar voice come from one of the desks in the back. I look over to where I heard the voice, only to lock eyes with the boy who saved me. He breaks into a grin. "You made it!"

"So did you!" I walk over to him. "Congrats!"

"I don't think we've been properly introduced to each other. I'm Tenya Iida from the Somei Private Academy."

"Jade Cooke from Sakuragaoka Middle."

"We seem to find ourselves grouped together quite often as it seems." Iida chuckles to himself.

"I don't mind. You seem nice." I shrug. He does seem nice. After all, he did save me from that huge robot.

"Thank you. You seem nice as well."

"Oh, by the way, how did you end up doing on the written exam?" I ask. I know I shouldn't, but I'm so curious to know.

He blushes. "I received the second highest score of all the examinees."

"Hey, look at you!"

"May I ask how you did?"

"I placed in the top five." I smirk. It seems the two of us are destined to be grouped together in almost everything. I'm glad he doesn't seem like someone who touts his intellectual superiority. It would be so hard to be friends with someone like that.

"That's very impressive." Iida stands. Now that we're not in danger, I can see that he's not that much taller than me, maybe just a head's difference. "I apologize, but I see more of our classmates, and I've made it a personal goal of mine to introduce myself to everyone today."

"Have fun." I step aside to let him by, then look for my desk.

As soon as I find it, I decide to take my seat. So Iida is his name. He looks good in that uniform. More classmates file in, and Iida takes the time to greet each one of them and get their name.

A boy with bright yellow hair sits in the seat right next to mine. He beams at me. "Hey. I'm Denki Kaminari."

"Jade Cooke." I can't help but smile back at him. I can already tell we're going to get along.
