Cavalry Battles. Midnight explains that we'll break into teams of two to four people and that each player has a point value assigned to them. The points increase by 5 for each place, 5 being last place. I do some quick math in my head. I have about 100 points to my name. Tenya has about 185. Each team is going to have a different point value depending on the students participating.
And then we find out Midoriya has ten million points tacked on him. If we can take him down, we win easily. I would never complain at a chance to take him down, but isn't that a little unfair? I almost feel bad for him.
The game will last fifteen minutes. Each player's points will be added together to reach our team value and we'll wear headbands to display how much we're worth. We must wear our stolen headbands from the neck up. Even better, we can keep playing until time's up, so we don't have to worry about falling down or being automatically disqualified for getting our headbands stolen. However, if we make a team fall on purpose, that is grounds for disqualification.
Midnight releases us to form our teams. We have fifteen minutes. Perfect, I'll definitely have cooled down completely by then and I'll be ready to go.
I turn to Tenya first.
"How are your muscles feeling?" He asks as he stops rubbing my arms.
"A lot better, thanks." I blush.
"Jade, I don't think it's wise for us to team up. You heard Aizawa, we have a penchant for working together. People will be expecting it and strategize to take us both down at the same time. It's a better strategy if we split up for this round."
He's probably right. Still, I don't know who else I would work with. "You're right. If we subvert people's expectations, we each have a better shot at doing well."
"That's not to say I wouldn't enjoy working with you, but I think we'd better be smart about this."
"You're all good. Good luck." I extend my hand and he gives it a shake.
"You too." He nods to me.
I leave to go find some people to work with.
"Hey! Hey you! Snow girl!" The support course boy I saved waves me over. "Join my team!"
"Really? Why me?" I walk up to him anyways.
"'Cause you saved me and honestly I'm a little surprised you're not teaming up with your boyfriend over there." He nods toward Tenya, who's talking to Todoroki.
I turn bright red. "He's not my boyfriend."
"Oh, well anyways, Aizawa said you two always work together."
"Yeah, most of the time that's true. Sure, I'll join your team. I'm Jade Cooke, by the way."
"Konyo Okazaki. So you can do snow pretty much ... and my quirk is Prey Vision. I can move my eyes to the side of my head to sense attacks from all around me."
"Which means you'd be the rider, so you could tell me when to attack. I don't have to use my arms if I'm just launching something, all I have to do is conceptualize the form I want the snow to take, but projectiles do require an arm to shoot accurately. Should we find another person?"
"Yeah, probably. Who should we get?" Okazaki looks around us. "I think I see one of my friends from general studies. We can work with her."
I run with Okazaki to the girl in question. She looks at us in surprise.
"Oh, hey, Okazaki! Who's this?" She asks.
"Hano, this is Cooke from the hero course. Join our team?"
