Around noon on Wednesday, Aizawa tells us about our training for the day. We'll be under the supervision of three pros and we'll be doing rescue training. He says we can wear whatever we want, but to keep in mind that since we're not used to our costumes, they may be a hinderance. The training is apparently at an off-campus facility, which everyone gets excited about. He releases us to get ready.

I debate for a minute about wearing my PE clothes or my costume, but it can't hurt to get used to the costume. Plus, if I need to make changes, it's better to identify flaws with it now rather than later.

I change into my costume and wait for the bus with the rest of my classmates.

"Gather around, Class 1-A! Using your student numbers, please form two neat lines so we can load the bus efficiently!" Tenya yells, calling our attention with a whistle.

"Where did he get the whistle?" Ojiro leans over to ask me.

"You think I know?" I answer.

We all line up as Tenya instructed, only to find out that the bus has an open layout. Tenya grumbles about the layout ruining his boarding strategy.

I sit down next to him and put a hand on his back. "At least you had a strategy."

"Iida, you really need to chill." Ashido says.

"Don't let it get you down, okay?" I keep my attention on Tenya while everyone else bullies Bakugo.

He nods and sits upright. "You're right, Jade. It's just a bus."

"Exactly, look at you! And you can keep that strategy for the next bus we have to take, so it's not a waste!"

"You somehow always find the positive, don't you?"

"Hey, hey, we're here." Aizawa says. "Stop messing around."

We pull up to a giant glass dome. My first thought is that it looks like the zoo where I'm from in America, but I don't say it out loud.

Outside the facility, we're met by someone wearing a space suit.

"Hello everyone! I've been waiting for you!" They sound so chipper it's hard not to immediately trust them.

Thanks to Midoriya's babbling, I find out that the person in the suit is the rescue hero Thirteen.

"I can't wait to show you what's inside!"

We follow Thirteen inside the dome, which just looks like a theme park upon first glance. There's separate zones for a shipwreck, a fire, a landslide, and other disasters. Thirteen tells us that they created this facility to prepare us to deal with different types of disasters.

As Thirteen is introducing us to the USJ, Aizawa glances around and realizes that All Might isn't here. When asked about it, Thirteen just holds up three fingers and says he did too much hero work and is resting in the teachers' lounge.

Aizawa grumbles at the news, but tells Thirteen to get started. They nod, turning to us. "Excellent! Before we begin, let me just say one thing. Well, maybe two things. Possibly three ... four ... or five."

I brace myself for a long-winded speech.

"Listen carefully." Thirteen says. "I'm sure you're aware that I have a powerful quirk. It's called Black Hole. I can use it to suck up anything and turn it into dust."

"Yeah, you've used Black Hole to save people from all kinds of disasters before, haven't you?" Midoriya pipes up.

"That's true." Thirteen nods. "But my quirk could also very easily be used to kill. Some of you also have powers that can be dangerous. In our superhuman society, all quirks are certified and stringently regulated, so we often overlook how unsafe they can actually be. Please don't forget that if you lose focus or make the wrong move, your powers can be deadly. Even if you're trying to do something virtuous like rescue someone. Thanks to Aizawa's fitness tests, you have a solid idea of your quirk's potential, and because of All Might's combat training, you likely experienced how dangerous your powers can be when used against other people. Carry those lessons over to this class. Today, you're going to learn how to use your quirks to save people's lives! You won't be using your powers to attack enemies or each other, only to help. After all, that's what being a hero is all about. Ensuring the safety of others. That's all I have to say. Thank you so much for listening!" They finish with a bow, earning some cheers from myself and my classmates.
