Nico groaned. He placed one hand on his lower back and he used the other to rub his stomach.
He was seven months pregnant, and his husband was fiddling with the crib in the middle of the living room, making it the most unique and handy crib ever.
Nico had made the Hades cabin their little home, getting rid of the drowsy colors and making it baby proof. He was quite proud of his work, but Leo was still trying to perfect the crib.
He walked by him and put a hand on his shoulder as he was working on the floor. "It's perfectly already, love."
"I know, but how's he gonna attract all the ladies without the bestest crib?"
"Or she," Nico corrected, since they decided to wait on the gender. "And trust me. She'll be fin- Oooh..."
Nico slowly inched to a nearby chair and sat down. He kept his hand on his baby bump, whining under his breath because he was too stubborn to moan out loud in pain.
"Do you need anything? Water? Tacos?" Leo offered.
Nico smiled lightly, finding it humorous but in too much pain to laugh, "No... I'm okay."
He looked down at his bump. He started thinking about his body. This pregnancy has been hard. He's had to stop taking T, and completely give in to a feminine figure for this little one. Granted, he can go right back after, but it was difficult. He's glad he's only got a couple months left to meet this little one.
He rubbed his baby bump with both hands, talking to the baby now, "You're gonna be so much fun aren't you?"
Leo smiled, "Not as much fun as THIS AWESOME CRIB!" Just as he said that, a screw popped out and rolled across the floor. He sighed, mumbling a 'dammit' to himself.
Nico had no idea what he was doing to the crib, he just knew he trusted Leo to make it perfect for their child.
After a moment, his stomach growled and his phone rang. He sighed, not sure if he had the energy to answer the call, and he didn't know what he wanted to eat.
Overwhelmed with tiredness and emotions, and definitely tripping up over his hormones, he started crying. He wiped his cheeks and sniffled.
Leo looked back from his work, "Babe, why are you crying? What's going on?"
He immediately quit his work on the crib and came to kneel in front of Nico.
He took Nico's hands, "Hey, it's okay. Look at me."
Nico sniffled, "I don't know!" He honestly wasn't sure and didn't have the energy to figure it out.
"Hey, it's okay. It's just the hormones, baby," Leo said, comforting him. He knew this was a no-jokes time, because Nico would have his head.
"I'm h-hungry and the phone is ringing a-and I don't wanna answer it and-"
"Hey," Leo said, Nico choking up. "It's okay. You don't have to answer the phone. Just take a deep breath."
Nico inhaled slowly and wiped his cheeks with his forearms. His stomach moved slightly as the baby moved, so he stopped wiping his cheeks and rubbed the bottom.
"And everything hurts!" Nico complained. "And I'm so tired!"
"It's okay," Leo comforted, "That's normal. How about you take a nap?"
Nico kept crying, "I don't wanna lay by myself!"
"I'll lay with you," he assuaged, standing up. He took Nico's hands again.
"Come on, let's go lay on the bed," he said.
Nico squeezed one of Leo's hands, and let go of the other to hold the bottom of his stomach. He was only 7 months, but he was at least as big as 8 months. He stood slowly, holding his stomach as he did. He kept his hand there as he walked with Leo to their bed.
They laid down and Nico sniffled. Leo wiped his cheeks and kissed his nose.
"It'll be okay," Leo promised. "I love you."
