When Josie woke up the next morning she noticed she was in her room, she doesn't remember getting back there. But she was really out of it after the doctor told her the news about her mom, she thinks she even hugged Hope.

"Oh good you're awake," Hope said walking on with a mug and a plate in her hand.

"Hope? when did I get back," Josie said sitting up and running her hand through her hair.

"Well, after a lot of crying in the parking lot you fell asleep on my shoulder so I just carried you to the car and brought you back home, it was kind of hard bringing you in here because I didn't want to wake you up but you surprisingly didn't even budge."

"I must've been really tired" she chuckled.

"Yeah you must've," she said before handing Josie a cup of coffee and a plate that had a bagel on it "sorry kinda raided your cabinets, wanted to get you some breakfast."

"Thanks for this" Josie gestured towards the coffee before taking a sip.

"It's no problem really" Hope said before taking a seat at the end of the girl's bed.

"I hope I didn't say anything embarrassing last night, things are kind of fuzzy from all the crying."

"Hm, I don't remember you saying anything too odd, but besides the cuddling everything was normal."

"Cuddling?" Josie's eyes widened.

"Oh yeah, you begged me to stay and hold you when I was about to leave for the Salvatore school, I even have pictures " Hope chuckled.

"That's so embarrassing" she groaned.

"It's okay, no need to be embarrassed, and if it helps you were a pretty good cuddlier 7 out of 10."

"Only a 7?"

Hope shrugged "I've had better," she said.

"Thanks for being there for me last night, I know I've been kinda a bitch-"

"Kinda?"

"-And I'm sorry, but it means a lot that you took me and my family to the hospital and brought me back here, not a lot of people would do that so... thanks."

Hope smiled "yeah of course."

The brunette took a sip of her coffee and bit into her bagel before suddenly remembering something "speaking of my family, where are they?"

"Well, Lizzie decided to stay at the hospital with your mom, the doctor wants to keep her for a few days of observation, oh and I texted her that I was taking you home last night through your phone so she wouldn't worry."

"Thanks," the brunette said giving her a small nod.

"Speaking of last night, how are you holding up, that news was... big, and I can't imagine what it must've felt like."

"I don't know, I still don't even know if I processed it, just doesn't seem real you know? that she's going to be gone within the next year" the brunette said looking down at her cup of coffee.
