This whole sharing-a-bed situation was honestly not going as well as the brunette had thought it would. It seemed like it would be an easy thing to do It was just sharing a bed, but Josie for the life of her could not fall asleep no matter how hard she tried. She let out a sigh and turned her head seeing that Hope was also still awake staring at the ceiling.
"You're still awake? I thought you'd be asleep" Josie turned on her side, facing the shorter girl.
Hope shrugged "I couldn't sleep, Now why are you still awake Ms.Parker" she smirked and also turned on her side so she was fully facing her.
"I don't know, I guess I just don't sleep well away from my home, I'm so used to sleeping with my sister" Josie looked down clearly embarrassed "she usually holds me until I'm asleep" she whispered the last part.
"What was that Ms.Parker?" she said still smirking.
"Oh you heard me don't make me repeat myself," Josie said blushing.
"I'm kidding, but... I could hold you."
Was this actually happening?
"What?"
"Do you want me to hold you until you fall asleep" she gave the girl a small smile.
That does sound nice, Josie thought to herself.
"You wouldn't mind? that wouldn't be weird for you? or make you uncomfortable at all... I don't want to make you uncomfortable."
"I wouldn't have offered if it made me uncomfortable," she said a smile still on her face.
Josie took a deep breath and nodded at the girl "y-yeah uh that would probably help" she said.
"Turn to your side," Hope said.
"What?"
"Turn to your side" she chuckled and Josie nodded and turned to her side.
A moment later the brunette felt a slim arm wrap around her waist and a chin slot itself in between her neck and collar bone "tell me if I make you uncomfortable okay?" she said.
"Okay..." Josie breathed out.
You'd think being so close to a pretty girl would drive her insane and keep her up all night, but sleep surprisingly found Josie that night. And dare she say that's the best night's sleep she's had in a while, there was no stress. It was just her and Hope in their own little cloud.
When Josie woke up she still felt Hope holding her. The brunette let out a content sigh and turned in the girl's arms before nuzzling her face in the crook of the girl's neck.
She was on the verge of falling asleep again when she heard someone clear their throat.
She felt Hope stir before opening her eyes. Both girls looked up to see Maya standing above the bed, looking down at them with a smirk on her face "are you two love birds going to get up? we have to be at the stadium in like an hour."
Love birds? Ha.
That was a funny one, the brunette thought to herself before looking down at the position they were in. Hope still had her arm wrapped around her, and their legs were practically tangled together.
The brunette quickly untangled herself from the girl before getting up and walking over to her bag where she grabbed her soccer uniform.
"I'm gonna get changed..." she said and they all stared at each other for a moment before going separate ways.
When Josie entered the bathroom she shook her head and stripped off her clothing.
Something was wrong with her. Maybe she needed to go get checked out by a doctor.
"Good morning ladies, me and Hope's mother bought everyone donuts since it's a special occasion," Coach Stefan said opening the crispy cream box.
"Dope," Maya said and grabbed a glazed donut.
Josie went next and grabbed a chocolate glazed and took a bite out of it. Hope just stood there and watched her eat.
Was that creepy? probably.
"Hope" Hayley snapped her fingers in her daughter's face finally getting the teenagers attending. The auburnette looked at her confused.
"I'm sorry what did you say?"
"Are you going to get a donut?" she raised an eyebrow and Hope nodded before going over to the box and grabbing a chocolate glazed.
Josie made it look good so she wanted to try it.
"Okay, when everyone is finished eating we are going to head onto the bus and go to the stadium where I want you all to be on your best behaviors" he looked around and the girls just stared at him as they bit into their donuts.
Stefan then turned and started talking to Hayley leaving the teens to talk amongst themselves.
"Exciting day isn't it?" she heard Landon say from behind her.
Hope turned toward the boy as she ate the last bite of her donut "I suppose..."
"Mind if I take a few photos of you?"
"What- why" she raised an eyebrow at the curly-haired boy who lifted his camera and smiled.
"For yearbook," he said and they both stood there in silence staring at each other.
"So can I...?"
"Uh- yeah I guess, what do I need to do?"
"Just do a piece sign or something" he lifted his camera, looking through the small lens. Hope did a piece sign and gave the camera a small smile.
"Perfect," he said pulling the camera away from his face and looking at the photo.
"Okay everyone let's get on the bus!" Stefan called out.
When they arrived at the stadium Josie was a bit shocked. She had never been to a sports stadium this big before.
There looked to be at least a hundred girls on the field, some talking and many just kicking a soccer ball around.
"Okay don't wander off, I will be doing a roll call every 30 minutes to make sure we don't leave, or lose any of you" Coach said.
Josie turned and saw Hope staring down at her soccer cleats. The girl looked a bit bored if you asked her.
"Hope" Josie heard a man call out and she turned her head to see a man with dirty blonde haired.
Josie looked back towards Hope who had her jaw clenched. The girl did not look happy.
"Dad."
