She didn't know what she was doing there.

Sure her sister had practically begged her to accompany her, and even though she'd detested a few times, she could have still denied, it wasn't like the girl had put a gun to her head.

Maybe her curiosity got the best of her, that was the excuse she was going with anyway.

Where had he been?
She'd convinced herself that she didn't care but she wasn't entirely sure that was the case.

For the past few months, her sister had been dating her boss. She wasn't exactly excited about that fact but she knew she had to accept and get used to it, there was no point dwelling on someone who yet again, chose her sister over her.

At that point she'd been used to it.
Though it didn't hurt any less, if anything, it was much worse. She needn't explain why.

When her sister told her they were dating, she felt a dagger shoot up to her heart. It felt like someone stabbed her chest multiple times with a sharp object.

It felt like she couldn't breathe.

Even though she'd seen them leaving together that night at the club, it didn't make the reveal any less heartbreaking.

It was one thing for her sister to have a fling with the boy, but it was another for them to get into a relationship.

Of all men who practically begged at her sister's feet to simply be in the presence of her, why did it have to be him that she chose?

Out of all the amazing women he could've chosen, why did he go with her own sister? Did she really mean that little to him?

Amy knew that eventually she was going to find herself in the presence of the couple, and she needed to be able to control her feelings when it happened.

She'd been very close with her sister that she'd wondered why it hadn't happened yet. Not that she would've jumped at the opportunity.

She'd figured her sister didn't want her feeling bad because she knew she liked the guy.

Sure Amy had never openly said it, but Kendra knew her sister more than anyone else, she even teased her about it, to which she thoroughly denied.

Amy loved her sister dearly and she was happy for her, of course she was.

At the core of everything, they were just two sisters who cared deeply for each other despite what anyone might've argued. It was just that life was complicated sometimes and they weren't the first sisters to ever fall for the same guy.

Kendra had never really been into anyone quite like she was into Jason. Not really. Everyone she'd been into she'd gotten over in a few days. That was just how she was.

And it wasn't that she was a player, it was that she hadn't found the guy for her. All Kendra ever wanted was to find that undeniable connection with someone who was worthy of her.

And she seemed to have found it with Jason. Two months later and she was still very invested, that was a first for her.

Amy always knew that once she found the right one, she would settle, and it seemed to her she'd finally done it.
