Coopers and Co. was a significantly large company.
It employed an upward of a thousand people nationwide and that was only because they'd laid off a hefty amount of employees when they became more digital a few years before.
It had a few branches and owned its own supporting companies, such as its very own delivery/shipping company.
The headquarters of the organization was a showoff, it had been said multiple times. Part of the reason, of course, was to give a sense of intimidation.
The design of it alone had earned it the name; engineering wander.
Dr. Cooper wanted it to be an architectural masterpiece, and indeed it was.
The building was a tourist attraction and it was massive.
Yet... it wasn't big enough.
It had only been just before lunch break and she'd seen him three times that day. Which was a lot considering the man had a whole multi-billion dollar company that required his attention.
If she didn't know any better, she would've thought he was following her.
First, it was in the lobby's lift when she'd arrived to work, luckily there had been other people in there, secondly, it was in their briefing meeting that he hadn't attended in months, prior to the week before.
He'd made a random appearance to casually ask them how they'd been adjusting to the new environment, obviously because he cared so much about them. Right.
Lastly? She was about to find out.
"Please close the door behind you Ms. Rutherford."
She did as she was told and then quietly had a seat in front of him.
A short moment passed as the pair adjusted to the tension that always existed in each other's proximity. At that point it wasn't wild anymore, because they'd found themselves in each other's presence a few times.
Whatever it was, Amy hoped it didn't put her at odds with her sister again.
Their relationship had barely survived the events of the week before and the last thing she wanted was a repeat of that.
When Ms. Viera called her to attention earlier at the engineering wing, the last thing she thought was that the CEO of the megacorp wanted to see her.
It could've been anything really. The line managers had started doing extensive reviews on the few interns that were left and everyone was already on edge.
She'd been very vague when she called her and Amy guessed it was to not make it obvious to the other interns.
It wasn't just vague, it was alarmingly suspicious that she was glad nobody had seen, or at least she hoped.
"Mr. Cooper."
She needed to maintain her respect, he was her boss after all.
After the events of the week before, Amy had promised herself and her sister that she wasn't going to engage with the man.
But it was a little difficult when said man was her boss and could get her fired any day.
"Please... call me Jason. Or JJ."
