Birds sang a melodious tune of lost lovers, time stood still to allow for the occasion's recollection, and everything that had happened prior to that moment did not matter. Not in the slightest.
The warmth of her lips incited everything wondrous about existence. The equator, gravity, and the moon. Everything that was out of this world - because that was what she was.
She felt like a place he'd never known before, she felt like home. And it was the same for her with him.
Everything that had happened up until that moment felt pointless. Because in his arms and in his heart was where she belonged.
They were each other's home and it had taken them entwining their lips to confirm that, not that they'd doubted it.
Oh but it was more than just the kiss, though it had been incredible.
It was how her chest fit perfectly in the depth of his broad one. It was the heat that their warm bodies conjointly radiated.
It was how their closeness to each other made it feel like nothing else mattered or existed.
Who cared for duty or rules when they were together? Who cared that the odds seemed to be against them? Who cared that the office door was left ajar when the pair engaged in their explosive act?
It certainly wasn't them.
The two finally let go of each other's lips after what felt like a century, but it was so they could allow for their blood circulation to commence.
"That was..."
"A mistake?"
Her insecurities made a minor return. She hadn't put much thought when she ran to his office and plugged her lips into his. She followed her instinct and it could've possibly led her astray, it was only then that she was realizing.
But she felt the insecurities disappear when,
"Baby, if that was a mistake, I never want to stop making it."
He'd said reassuringly, earning a blush from the girl who also beamed at the chosen word of endearment.
The two stared lovingly at each other for a while before Jason decided that it was probably a good idea to close his office door, and so he did.
"That was..."
"Amazing."
They repeated.
"You took the word out of my mouth."
He said with a light chuckle.
They had kissed before, and though it had felt great, it was nothing like what had just occurred.
Perhaps it was the accumulation of the desperate need for each other that made it so damn miraculous.
Perhaps when they first met, their hearts hadn't yet convinced their minds that they were both home in each other's arms.
Jason returned to his lover who now sat on his wooden desk after closing the office door. He then proceeded to carry the tip of her chin with his two middle fingers, sending electrical jolts circulating throughout her body.
Amy couldn't help but pucker her lips when he started leaning in to give her a peck that lasted a little too long to be considered one.
