One of the beautiful early summer mornings.
The golden rays of the sun gently spread across the backyard garden, painting everything in a soft warm glow.
In the middle of that peaceful backyard, a girl sat on a wooden swing, slowly moving back and forth, drying her wet hair with a towel, lost in her own world.
Her name is Mythili.
A clam, kind-hearted girl with a soft soul. She isn't someone who can easily opens up to the people. In fact, she is quite shy when it comes to making friends. But once she gets comfortable, she becomes the kind of a person who loves deeply and purely.
The swing she sat on.. was not just a swing. It was connected with beautiful memories.
Her nanna had made it for her when she was a child. Since then, it had become her little escape space from the world- a place where she laughed, cried, dreamed and grown.
It was her semester holidays.
There was still a week left before her 4th year classes would begin. She was pursuing her Engineering at srividhya engineering college, Hyderabad- one of the reputated colleges in the city.
[College name is imaginary.]
Though she is studying in Hyderabad, her roots belonged to Warangal - a place rich in culture, traditions and history. A place she always felt connected to.
Her life was simple.
Her nanna works as headmaster and teacher in government school. He wasn't just a teacher who completes the syllabus- he is someone who shapes his students lives. He believes that education wasn't only about marks, but values, respect and understanding how to live in society.
Her amma was a homemaker - the backbone of their family. Caring, loving and strong in her own way.
Mythili admires them alot.
To her - they are her world.
p.s:
[amma means mummy and Nanna means Dad.
Don't froget it. They are basic terms used in my chapters. sometimes I forget to translate them.]

"Mythu...mythu, come inside. Get ready. We are getting late for the temple."
Her amma's voice broke her thoughts.
She is calling from the kitchen while preparing teas for her husband.
"Vasthunna amma," mythili replied softly. [ "Coming..amma."]
She got down from the swing and walked into her room.
After a few minutes, she came out wearing a orange anarkali with pink dupatta. The colors reflected her simplicity and elegance.
Her long waist length hair was tied into braid and was swaying as she walked into the living room.
amma's strict rule: no open hair in the temple.
Her nanna was sitting on the sofa, sipping his tea.
"Good morning nanna," she said, sitting beside him.
"Good morning beta..." he said with a small smile, gently patting her head.
She smiled.
Meanwhile, her amma walked in holding the pooja basket.
"Evandi, we are going to the temple. Lock the door while going to school. Iam taking the spare key with me."
[evandi- how wife calls her husband in telugu states.]
"Okay Vasu. Don't be late." he replied
"Ha ok andi..come mythu.."
"Yes amma, bye nanna.." Mythili said, giving a quick kiss on her father's cheek.
He smiled as they leave.

Temple visit was peaceful.
The sounds of bells, the incense fragrance and the chanting prayers created a divine atmosphere.
Mythili closed her eyes for a moment, silently praying - for the happiness of her family.

By evening, the house was filled with a comfortable silence.
Mythili sat beside her father in the hall, watching t.v. while her amma was busy in the kitchen preparing dinner.
The news channel was playing in the t.v.
Mythili frowned.
"Where is the remote, nanna? I don't want to watch this news...eww." she said, making a cute irritated face.
Her nanna chuckled.
"Beta, we should watch the news atleast once a day. So that we get to know what's happening in the country."
"No nanna...you always say this," she whined, trying to grab the remote.
"Sare sare..i'll give it to you after 15 minutes. Let me watch this now.: he said, patting her head.
She sighed dramatically and leaned back on the sofa.

The news that changes everything....
"Today's news the main headlines..."
"A new DCP has been appointed to Hyderabad city."
Mythili lazily glanced at the t.v...
But the moment she saw...her eyes stayed there.
DCP Ramachandra..
A man of words.
A man of records.
Recently transformed from Bengaluru to his native city Hyderabad...
There is no case he hasn't solved.
Criminals tremble at just by his name.
and now...
He is the Hyderabad, the city can sleep peacefully now.
His picture was displaying on the screen.
And her eyes didn't blink.
There is something about him...sharp eyes, intense expressions, confident stature, aura is different.
It's powerful, Different, Unforgettable.
She couldn't look away.
She feels drawn at him.
As if---
Her world had unknowingly shifted.
She kept staring at the screen, completely lost.
Even after the news ended...Her eyes remained there.

"Dinner is ready!" her amma called from the kitchen.
She blinked.
As if she had just returned from somewhere far away.
she looked away from the t.v.
But his image stayed in her mind.
Clear.
Sharp.
Unshakable.
